i see but my point is i have to use my own money to fix it. £500 to fix my car? doubt it otherwise they wouldn't have declared it a write off.
i would still be spending over 1k to fix my own car.

1, ask the garage how much to fix it.
2, ask the garage how much the cars worth in its current state
3, add the 2 figures together
4, wait and see what the insurance offer to settle.
if 4 is more than 3 then it may be worth you offering the insurance 25% less than 2 to buy it back, get it on the road again and you have your reliable car back and maybe some change to tint the windows so no one can see its you driving that car.
if not then take the money and buy another car, end of

spoke to someone who did a similar thing. diddnt say she bought her own car back though but what she did was agree and recieved a settlement cash for it. she diddnt buy her own car back or anything.being as though your finding this hard to understand.

when one of you guys mentioned of buying my own car back i was wondering why? its my own car, why would i want to buy it back?
Originaly it wasnt clear what some of you guys was saying BUT now i understand it better.
Hope i get a decent amount, maybe 2k plus my car back and i will check and see how much it costs over on a nissan garage to repair the damage.
well for starters do not ask a main dealer the repair costs, its pointless, ask a local body shop what they would charge, main dealers and accident repair centers charge well over the odds, thats why its been wrote off.
when the insurance settle, you hand them the log book to the car and its there property, thats the point in question. you can then buy it back if its part of there policy, others shove em on a transporter and they go to auction.
