I've only ever cut my knuckles putting a scythe mugen push pin in, in an antec p182. Not cheap components but small spaces = pain.
I have a permenant scar on my finger from a cheap case which had what I thought was a fine piece of cotton or plastic attached, queue me trying to pull it off resulting in much blood and a trip to a&e. It was a fine bit of steel, cut through me like cheeswire does cheese!
"It is impossible to strike up an intelligent conversation with an inanimate object."
try building a pc inside a lian li case. its soo smooth that its almost impossible to cut yourself
In an indeal world yes, but sadly this is not the case with real life
The general masses don't want to pay 180 quid for a case. They want to pay 180 quid for a full base unit that can deal with web surfing and yoooooutube.
As such, using a cheaper case is the only option and sometimes the chassis has already been purchased or is being reused so we have to work with what we are supplied.
last time i cut my self was on my gigabyte 8600 GT, on the rounded edge off the card, i think i was doing something with scisors near it and it was because the card was taking up too much room i cut my self, the card still has got blood marks....overclocks nicely tho
Makes me kinda glad I stopped building PC's about 7 years ago, I don't miss the aggro that's for sure and there is no money to be made from computers anymore so I got out when the going was good!
I feel your pain, I managed to slip my little finger throught the hole for the ps/2 port when I was fitting the I/O back plate to my case. When I tried to remove my finger I sliced it up nicely on what I found to be razor sharp metal, suprising amount of blood.
... still not as bad as the time I accidentally attacked one of my fingers with a screwdriver
