    Bed for guests

    My sofa ain't that comfy, but my living room is vast. So, I want something for people to sleep on when they need to crash.

    Any suggestions?

    Not looking to spend much money, so I guess a roll-out of some sort?

    Cheers,
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Self inflating sleeping mats eg. http://www.blacks.co.uk/category/cam...ping-mats.html

    Much better than an air bed.

    Sounds like the beginning to a crackin' blues song.

    Would another couch, maybe a smallish two-seater, with a fold-out bed not make sense. Fairly comfy bed, plus more seating...?

    Futon? Sounds perfect for what you want.

    http://www.futoncompany.co.uk/futons.html I recommend the Zip Up Bed, got one of those at home and it's great for guests.

    Re: Bed for guests

    We invested in a rather expensive and massive chaise longue / sofabed a year or so back. Worth every penny, but it was a *lot* of pennies, I'm afraid...

    You could go for Futon Cuhsions if you can find any (my google fu is weak today) - we have a couple of big floor cushions that unzip down the edges and turn into 3-fold single futon mattresses for guests. They're also good for lounging on day to day.

    Re: Bed for guests

    Tripadvisor is ok, but take it with a BIG pinch of salt. People tend, and i'm generalising, to only go on there to complain about hotels. As no hotel is perfect and people have different opinions on things, like if they say small bathroom, were they expecting a luxury spa? When they say the staff were rude, were they polite? Did they speak the language or did they make an effort to - so did they get the response they deserved? It's not like Amazon where people are encouraged to review what they bought, it's an opt in process and that means it'll be skewed towards bad things. Remember of course that 5 years ago we didn't have anything like this and holidays have been fine for many decades before.

    I would pay more attention to things like location than whether the rooms are any good, end of the day you just want a nice bed, a shower and a toilet, it baffles me how people can go for a weekend break and then say the hotel ruined it. If you do it right, you should only spend 3 or 4 conscious hours in the hotel

    Oh, and quidco give you a bit of money back on train fares, 2% isn't much, but a quid is a quid

    Re: Bed for guests

    I know this sounds weird, but have you ever tried sleeping ON a couple of double duvets?

    it's really comfy.

    And a couple of double duvets, cheaply purcahsed from Tesco or Wilkinson are dead easy to store.

    I'd try it yoursef for a starter. Get your own doube duvet off your bed and fold it in half.. and lie on it this evening in front of the telly.
