    Re: Derren Brown Yesterday

    In the clip he says:

"Everything I'm doing is perfectly legal."

    but then he says:

"I've been banned from buying a ticket for this lottery."

I think the last part is bogus. It would have been more impressive if he had actually bought a ticket with the numbers and won. I think it has less to do with him predicting the lottery, and more about him fooling us into thinking he actually did. Like in his live show, at the end it shows you all the stuff that played through and you always think "how did I miss that!?" I think the same thing will be happening tomorrow night .

That's what I thought at first, but after a second look at the footage the camera is constantly moving (handheld) rather than fixed, which makes that massivly harder to do. You'd either have to rig the camera movement so it's exactly the same on the pre-record as it is on the live, or have some clever software and serious processing power to match the image up in real time.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

I bet that's exactly why it's shakes, since it gives the footage a feel of 'authenticity' like amateur footage and documentaries. Makes you want to trust the images

Noting the props, the stand is set up so that all the balls fit in it nice and snug, which means it would be easy to put new balls in and have them sit in the same place...although the apparent give-away is that one isn't in the same place...

    Re: Derren Brown Yesterday

Interesting thoery. I do wonder why the camera moves. There's no reason for it not to be fixed, so it must me part of the illusion. Also, that holder for the balls seems just a little bit too small, which is why the last ball doesn't seem to fit in quite properly. Either that or the balls aren't all exactly the same size.

    Re: Derren Brown Yesterday

Biggest pile of crap I've ever seen, definitely his worst show.

    "Deep Maths" ROFL

Clearly it was a split screen or the balls were printed after the numbers were drawn: maybe infrared printing onto a heat sensitive coating, etc.
