Did anyone watch this? He guessed the lottery numbers before they were drawn.
Any ideas how he did it, before he reveals it on Friday.

Insert clever sig here...
You have to remember Derren Brown is a master of mind control, and making you believe the unbelievable through controlling your mind.
Thats all that will come out of this, how he manipulated stuff to make you believe it.
Wizard's First Rule applies here
"People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People’s heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool."
(source Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind as cited on wikipedia)
The problem IMO with Derran Brown is that we know he's a decietful little sod by now, and thus it takes away some of the magic and wonder he used to inspire.

This is bunny and friends. He is fed up waiting for everyone to help him out, and decided to help himself instead!

As soon as i saw it yesterday i thought pfft, its obvious.
Why is he writing the numbers down on a big white peice of card, there is some simple slight of hand going on.
White balls, white big peice of card rather than just some normal style CGI, or a white board, or something....
Thing is, today i'm not so sure.
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
the writing down is the distraction...
the balls on the left are likely to be overlayed on the screen and someone is putting the correct balls in place as they are announced....
they move off quickly and the overlay is removed... all whilst to keep your attention on the illusionist he's writing them down...
in a light controlled studio such as that you wont see any shadows where they shouldnt be either but i reckon thats how he did it...
if he really predicted them beforehand they would have been shown throughout the broadcast, not at the end once its been drawn...
seeing the balls come out and having the number already predicted would be far more interesting... turning round something with numbers on that could have been intefered with is just obvious!

I was hoping this would be the first live CGI magic trick, but I don't think it is, I think its all the classic mis direction.
The peice of card been bigger and wider than the balls, whilst the same colour, makes me assume it has something to do with it.

I agree, but I think there may be an aspect of wanting something he could advertise to get people watching his first show; however it was done 'predicting' lottery numbers has probably done that. Now that he's got a lot of the country into the series the genuinely interesting stuff can start. That's what I hope anyway.

He claims it's taken a year of work to do it so it better be something a little bit better than camera trickery. Most likely he did a spot of wizadry.
