Is the neutrality here on Hexus starting to become threatened??

For me Hexus is one of the more neutral computing forums on the interweb.

However,I have just noticed a new invasion of fanbois from over the pond to the shores of Hexus!! I fear this forum is going to start becoming some fanboi mud slinging grounds! SIGH!

Re: Is the neutrality here on Hexus starting to become threatened??

The coverage from the AMD v NVIDIA v EIDOS thread made it kinda inevitable.

I am sure it will die down soon though, there will be a new target for the fanbois to concentrate their inane drivel upon.

Nah, there has always been fanbois, and there will always be here too.

The decrease in traffic on here and the number of members that are on constantly has more to do with your thread title than fanbois

Re: Is the neutrality here on Hexus starting to become threatened??

It will die down when the discussion in NVidia/ ATI thread dies down or the thread is closed I reckon. The fanboi's have seen the thread advertised around and decided it would be good to join while the thread is running, *hopefully* the fanboi's will either stick around and just be like everyone elsem neutral or take the fanboi-ism with them and leave when the thread dies.

This isnt to say that its not good to see hexus pulling in more members btw.

I don't mind the reps slinging it out but not the fanbois or the employees of these companies pretending to be fanbois slinging it out. The same arguments were being repeated again and again like some old codgers.

Basically the thread is going nowhere and any posts between the reps have been swamped by pages of other stuff.

you cant have one without the other unless you need some kind of invite to get into the thread, as we don't have that kind of system and its open to all.. more than worth having to pick your way through it a bit

Re: Is the neutrality here on Hexus starting to become threatened??

Hexus is a home for all opinions - provided that there is no unauthorised advertising (spamming!) and that members do not start slinging personal abuse ar generating flame wars. In that event, the mods/admins will step in, but generally we expect (and find) that threads tend to self moderate - extreme views or outrageous statements usually get pulled to pieces by other members (in the nicest possible way of course! )

As an organisation, Hexus is independent of any retailer, organisation, manufacturer etc, and although Hexus obtains adevertsing revenue (to keep the forums going) that does not give any advertiser editorial control. And Mods/admins are independent too - staff members (shown in blue) are the only people employed directly by Hexus.

The rules are dotted about the forum - here is a good place to start, and here

Information about mods can be found here

But if anyone does feel that a discussion is getting out of hand, or that something needs to be looked at, just send a report. It will be looked at.
