Who is out of work?

I want to tell you, if you're out of work, it can come together for you.

I know how it feels.... I know what 0iD and I call "the fear" does to you every morning. I know the feeling that weekends are a waste of time because you can't apply for jobs or got to interviews.. and you can't enjoy them either with no income.

I know this feeling.

But I want to tell you, it CAN change.

It's often not your CV or your previous job.. but WHO you know, so keep talking to people.

And don't give up. I'm not saying keep cheery.. I know how hard it is. But when you DO get the interview, even if you don't think you'll get it...

CHEER UP AND ACT ... PUT ON A BRAVE FACE.

Also try and get some volunteer work. I know it doesnt bring in money but what it does do is give you some experience AND helps you meet people who MAY be able to offer you a job

that's a good idea.. but applying for jobs is a full time occupation. I looked into being a volunteer but simply didn't have the time.

Some job applications took 3 hours or more. Many of the job websites needed uploads of my CV and then took the data from it slightly wrongly and needed fully changing again!

I spent between 4 and 5 hours per day on average on apps. 2 hours at noon while my lad slept and 2 hours at night. That was for around 3 months.

Yup, it can take a long time. It took me 9 months but I didn't give up. There is something out there, you just have to keep looking.

Good advice, I spent months looking for a graduate job whilst I was at university and it took up a lot of my time & energy (see my relationship status ) but when you finally land one it is worth it. It will happen, just chin up & see what's round the corner!

I'm just about scraping a living being stuck on disability living allowance, been doing alot of volunteer work for Hexus lately though, which is great and gives me something to bother getting out of bed for :3

I am very very close to having to give up my job due to it causing issues at home... god knows what I will do then.

I lost my job on the 1st of June.. That was pretty crap, especially when I was the only one to lose my job.

I had a perfect record there too, 100% attendance, 100% punctuality and never had a complaint against my name. I don't think anyone else working there can claim a record like that. Seems a bit unfair tbh but whatever.

Been looking for jobs though, I have an interview with O2 on Tuesday morning so hopefully that'll go well.

I can suggest something if you're up for a project.

Ebay.... sell a lot of stuff, in an orderly and balanced manner, like a business, and keep at it as a sideline.

It keeps you focuses, prioritised to work and you keep your ability to create process....

Ebay saved my sanity.... without a doubt. It also amptied my loft of hardware and put severeal hundred quid back into my bank... both good gooood things.

Ebay's a good tip for extra income, at the moment my only income for luxury and leisure items comes from selling something I already own.

For s,ome of you who will find work eventually [hopefully], use this time to think like a small business. You have nothing to lose. Go out your door and offer services on your street/ local area. Connect. Show some entrepreneurship.

That said I'm looking forward to not putting up with all the rubbish I have to deal with.
