He's one of the few cast members I wasn't ever acquainted with. But it's quite scary to note how many of them have departed in the last few years.

Perhaps one of the original crooners.

Although crooner doesn't really cover his remarkable career as film star, singer and songwriter.

Perhaps the first song that comes to mind is "She" - which I was surprised to note was written in 1974.

the correct term would be chanssonier, along with Jacques Brel, George Brassens etc. Although Aznavour was not as powerful or emotive, he was still very widely respected.

Ben Daglish has passed away aged 52 from complications linked to lung cancer which he had been battling since 2015.

For those a bit younger he was one of the great musicians and composers of the 8 Bit era doing music for Monty Mole and The Last Ninja and many many more.
