Aye, we've got this undercontrol amazingly quickly and efficiently. Personally i feel very proud of our emergency services and everything they've done today and how calm they've stayed, getting this utter disaster under control. My heart goes out to all the families and friends of those injured or killed. We're very lucky that more people weren't killed!

<edit> ooft! totally missed my 2000th post!

Personally, this has only made me think about how careful I should be when I travel through London in the future.

I normally go through Kings Cross and Victoria, and if anyone has been to Kings cross you'll know how chaotic it is at the moment with all the building work.

I imagine that it's going to be an awful lot higher over the next couple of days, they still don't know how many people were on the bus.

Police chief said at a press conference on BBC News 24 that the explosion at Edgware Road blew through a train and through an adjacent wall causing damage to two other trains.

Dead bodies are still being uncovered at that site according to a BBC News 24 Reporter.

I work in the public area of Portsmouth Naval Base, a few hundred yards from Portsmouth Harbour Train Station... we were on highest security alert this morning following the bombings... and the station was closed for about an hour or two...

nasty business the whole thing if you ask me. now what kind of retaliation is there going to be? what methods will be employed to prevent further attrocities on our society's way of life? what conspiracy theories will spring forth from this? [I'd imagine some prat will come up with the US being behind it as a diversion to G8 , I doubt that very much]
its a whole shoddy mess. what does the country do now in the reality of such blatent attacks? I've got a pretty good pitch fork...Its not a very good advert towards trying to prevent the old chestnut of incitement to racial hatred now is it...

I'm upset that such a thing has occured, its sickening and shows only cowardice, but now I wonder what the next course of action will be by our government.
Is this the real start of 'the War on Terrorism'? where the battle field is not some dusty, windswept and ragged torn urban environment, in some far flung part of the world, but the very streets we live and work on.

Same for me, except I'm off to Hyde Park to see Queen + Paul rodgers (assuming it's still on).
