EDIT: Enverex it could be an issue with CityLink with the lateness of delivery - its worth while keeping an eye on that tracker
    Thats a good point,

But I have POD's for every order confirming delivery was made next day.

tbh mate, you are saying the same thing over and over again.

its not free delivery under £20 - well pretty reasonable
delivery as a standard charge is overpriced for cheap items - agreed, but scan said they'd look into it
delivery takes too long - sorry for your problems but as you can see from scans ratings, it usually does not.
long lead times - as explained about bank holidays above.

and look at the service you're geting now, personal level, actually talking to you. no 'notes' system, no crappy banks of telephones that don't get answered, no long winded emails. this is the reason i shop at scan when i can.

Now THAT I can say is deffinately not true. I've had issues with CityLink before where I thought packages went missing only for them to be delivered the next day, yet on the website (via the tracking number) it had said they had already been delivered. That caused some issues.

You can't blame Scan for that. You should take that up with CityLink mate.

    Incorrect,

Maybe there has been some latency in the City Link site updating, however the point is that every order you have made with Scan has been completed the same day and delivered to your doorstep the next day and signed for.

I can definitely say that this is %100 true. We have signed proof of delivery's ( POD's ) confirming this.

If you wish I can E-mail the POD's ( Showing signatures’, printed name of recipient, date and time) to you, to prove this.

That's the wrong way around. The site said it was delivered on one day (with me checking and wondering where the hell it was) and then it arriving the next. I'm not imagining this, I just wish I could remember, I know I ended up chasing it up and my mom sorting some things out so I'll speak to her when she gets back and see if she can remember which item it was (and when). It was either a screw up on the website or someone faking the POD, but this did happen.

The POD's are not fake I can assure you and both Scan's and City Link's web site clearly show the tracking for every order. Every order you have placed has been delivered next day. - Fact.

If an issue such as this did occur then notes would have been created on our system and a late claim raised with City Link, which has never happened

    E.g
Current Status: These goods have been successfully delivered.

Customer Reference: 000****** Scheduled Delivery Date: 12/04/06
Delivery Postcode *** *** Number of Packs 1
POD Date: 12/04/06 POD Time: 12:24
    POD Signature: H*******

20:44 Tuesday, April 11, 2006 On route to delivery branch
02:57 Wednesday, April 12, 2006 Arrived at Delivery Branch
05:50 Wednesday, April 12, 2006 Goods loaded onto a van

And things don't go missing with other couriers? Special delivery would have insurance built in. Anyway, surely the prospect of extra business would offset this to a large degree (laws of averages etc..). It doesn't stop Komplett or Amazon using Royal Mail.

And as for using multiple couriers, well this can drum up extra business so would be attractive, as I was quote £25 for delivery of a £50 graphics card some time ago!

The issues with Royal mail are deliveries are not properly tracked; this causes issues when trying to track an order and find out exactly where it is. Because of this issues are created with lost/delayed deliveries and as getting a confirmed POD is time consuming and not always easy to receive meaning these issues cannot be effectively resolved.

Citylink have an exceptionally and consistently high success rate for our deliveries and problems are very rare. In recognition of this, we have great deal of faith in their ability to ensure our customers orders arrive on time and in excellent condition. Over the past few years our despatch systems have become more and more integrated with theirs, which now means that the whole process from the point of ordering to the point of delivery is streamlined and informative.

The carriage charge may cost a few pounds more; however you are assured of a fast hastle free delivery. Isolated problems here and there are an unavoidable consequence for any company dealing with such high volumes of deliveries as we do. By having such accurate and detailed information available to base any investigations on, we are able to quickly and effectively resolve any queries.

The only time a carriage charge of £ 25.00 would be quoted would be for a Premium service such as a Saturday Pre 12am delivery.

I haven't had any issues with deliveries from either scan or most other places with city link. If anything I've always been annoyed at ebuyer as their items are still sent by next day delivery, but if you choose cheaper options they just dispatch them later.

However something I'd love to see would be an option for the items to be delivered to the city link warehouse and kept there, so I could go pick them up the same day, rather than go home to see the failed delivery notice and having to wait till the next day before I can drive there to get it. I am sure many others aren't at home either during the day and would appreciate such an option. Maybe delivery could be attempted on second day to make sure that the items aren't forgotten at the depot or something. So if you don't collect it on the day of delivery it is attempted the next day.

Can I just ask ALL forum members to please let Enverex and the Scan guys sort this out.

I know you're all trying to be helpful but let's let the folks that have the info sort it out.

Fair enough but if that is the case they should take it to PM, not on here as it is a public forum and we are bound to put our views in here.

Unfortunately it would be unfeasible to allow orders to be kept at the City Link dept for collection same day for security reasons as the delivery will require a signature from someone at the address specified. This is strictly enforced for security purposes. If you are unavailable on the scheduled delivery date, Citylink should leave a calling card and take the parcel back to your local depot. The delivery should then be automatically attempted the next working day. If delivery is still not successful then your parcel will be held until you make contact with Citylink to rearrange the delivery on a more convenient day.

If there is no-one available to take delivery at the address specified, you can collect the parcel from your local depot, with 2 forms of ID.

If delivery has not been successful within approx 5 days, the parcel will automatically be returned to Scan by Citylink. If this happens, Scan will have been charged for an outgoing journey and a return journey, so in these rare cases we issue a refund minus delivery charges to cover some of our costs.

    Regards

I know all that, thanks. (well not the bit that it really utterly has to be delivered for security purposes). Its just that every person I know seems to be working during the day and is at home in the evenings. Including City-Link drivers. This results in me coming home to the undelivered note, phoning city-link and then going to depot the next day (redilivering would be just a waste of time as the next day I am typically at work too). Just thought that maybe possibly a new way of dealing with this could be created. You tick a "delay at depot for 1 day" box and come with 1-2 proofs of identity and address and sign for it. And if you don't come on the first day they deliver it on the second to avoid any "problems". Since its the customer who gets to select such an option they are unlikely to complain, are they. But if it can't be done then it can't be done.
