    My experience of Scan is that they're great until you have a problem. When I RMA'ed my brand new Shuttle to them earlier in the year (having spent hours testing, re-testing and researching online), they told me it wasn't faulty and shipped it back to me, charging me for the RMA in the process. So after testing, re-testing and testing again (!!!), having eliminated everything bar the new CPU I purchased with the Shuttle (and almost having a nervous breakdown after speaking to their support people), I shipped it back again. This time, they said it WAS faulty, so they shipped me a new one.

    No apology, no refund of my original RMA costs. Phoned twice about my refund, but nobody could speak to me and nobody returned my calls. I had to find out the MD's contact details from Companies House and write to him twice before anybody contacted me and offered to refund the RMA charges.

    If I was the MD, I'd be incredibly embarrassed and phone or write to the customer affected, but hey, he was obviously too busy!

    I work in technical support for a major software company, so I know something about customer service. Maybe this was a one-off, but after the response I got to all the calls I made and letters I wrote, I certainly won't buy from them again, free postage or not.
    Could you post or PM me your details - I will flag this.

    With the volume of orders they are shipping people may well have problems - at the end of the day I know SCAN are being pro-active helping customers and making sure things work, we partnered with SCAN because I am more than impressed with how they work - and trust me things are good there - sorry to hear you may have had a bad experience - but HEXUS is confident you're in a very small minority.

    well done david - scans delivery prices have put me off for smaller orders, so ill definetly take advantage of this.

    Not bad timing at all for me... signed up to Hexus a few days ago to look through the forums bout building a new computer and parts comparison, then today find an email leading to this, about discounts from Scan (which incidentally I was already planning to order most of my system parts from)... brilliant

    Also quite impressed by the number of Scan employees etc involved here- good if ever there were a problem... reassuring to know you can contact people outside of phone-line confusion

    We alway try and keep at least a few people logged on the SCAN Forum during working hours, so you will always be able to get hold of someone.
