It sounds like you went blind from losing blood pressure, and/or oxygen to your head, which is most noticeable in your eyes. In order to combat it you need to establish if you are either lacking in blood pressure, or nutrients that allow your blood to hold more oxygen.

I'd agree with the Iron thing, it's a fact that most people don't get enough Iron, helps with haemoglobin which holds oxygen. You'll probably find the cure to this in excercise (lack or too much of), if you are vegetarian (so you need to make up for the lack of meat and look for Iron content in other foods, i.e. Spinach) or just general diet causing lack of blood pressure. It could probably also be caused by a sudden growth-spurt, and be just your body keeping up.

That sounds about right, I'm not a vegetarian. Not sure what I may not be getting enough of.

I had a very similar thing on wednesday while riding my bike, caused a black out, and ive subsequently only just got out of hospital, had me on heart monitors and stuff, reckon it might be an arythmia (sp?). I know you cycle to school, so might be worth going getting it checked out. Ive got to go back for a portable heart monitor.

I didn't cycle to school today (got a puncture in the back tyre on the way home yesterday), but I've had a terrible bad headache for hours now, worse than the one from the other day.

About an hour ago today I had a sharp headache that hurt for about 10 minutes. If this continues I'll go to the doctors again.

Oooh, i've had one of those (twice) before... but my heart arrythmia never plays up so i can record it in the timespan that i have the recorder. I've only ever had one attack where i've got dizzy (the last one, new years eve) and it is quite scary.

I get very weird migraines, i lose half the sight in my right eye then the headache starts after that all over my left eye area. It's good though coz it means I've worked out what it is before the headache disables me. (i.e i know that once i start losing my sight, i need to take some tablets to stop the headache progressing)

Adrian, how many times has this happened now? Is it just in the morning or at other times?

If it's a one-off that's OK, but if you've suddenly had a few out of the blue, you definitely need to see your GP for a full checkup.

    It's too quiet...

Here's a really great resource for migraine causes. It's all vetted by doctors and only uses legit research.

    Hi,
Erm, it was about 2-3 hours on Friday, and today for about 10 minutes but it was quite a sharp headache.

If it happens again tomorrow I'll be going to the doctors.

I don't drink that 8 glasses of water a day thing that people recommend, maybe it's time I should give it a 'trial'?
