its sad and all but I cant believe this was given so much coverage was given...
I have to agree there YorkieBen; BBC had live coverage from the Thames, and animated displays showing its journey all through the day...
New Sig on the Way...
...When there are more important issues that need our attention, like the true number of soldiers that have been injured (some critically) whilst serving in Iraq for this very Government (lets face it, the majority of the people in this country didn't want them to go there in first place and I'd imagine even less think they should still be there.
On the one hand the MoD have the excuse that divulging such information would destabilise the war effort, I think its even more distabilising when they blatantly hide information that we should know.
Its a great big "F*** YOU!!" to the soldiers who have given their lives for the Governement, the fact they don't want us to know such basic information (by the story not appearing on the front pages, or the main topic on the news on television) shows they don't want us to know the facts; this government is learning too much from the American system where their public are blissfully unaware of what goes on in the war. I'm sure Rave is as disgusted as I am .
I believe the whale in question should have been put down as soon as it was discovered; sounds harsh but I think it died a slow himuliating death with thousands of people staring at it, not a very dignified way of dying...

I think they were totally right to try to save it. These are endangered creatures. It was not humiliating, everyone cared about that whale, and I for one was genuinely sadenned by its passing.
Anyway, we're all just armchair pundits.
