    Watched it swim up by the Embankment just by our office several hours ago. It's currently near Battersea and we're hoping it'll make its return journey down the Thames before it goes dark. Either that or it's a good excuse to go to the Sherlock on Northumberland Ave after work to sink a few pints while waiting for it.

    Doesn't sound like it's in too good a way at the moment tho

    There is live coverage of it from the bbc website. I'm watching it now though yet to spot any sign of the whale.

    You often see a Whale or Dolphins off of Southend Pier. But its pretty unhead of for one to be that far up! Maybe its running from a Japanese whaling ship!

    Watching it on BBC News 24. I'm gutted for the whale! I really feel sorry for it.

    Wow bluddy hell

    Kinda cool, but this isn't a pretty situation really... I can't imagine the River Thames being very clean either - In fact, if someone dropped me in the middle I wouldn't stand it

    Are there ginormous crowds gathered along the river?

    I bet its not a whale... more a case of John Prescott seeing the Russian's on the news last night dipping in the water whilst in -30+ conditions and thinking I could do that over here if they can do it.

    Quite an easy mistake to get the 2 confused really.

    <groan>

    On a serious note, thats bizarre if the whales made it up the Thames. Maybe it's got lost chasing some food, but I bet at least 1 environmental group spouts the words "global warming" as the cause before the end of the day.

    Who knows... maybe the nosey little bugger wanted a sightseeing tour of London

    The BBC have really annoyed me: they just did a report on the whale with the caption: "RSPCA urging media to keep away". So, what do they do? They go to a live report from the scene!

    FFS, are they that desperate to get viewers? I usually am in 100% support of the BBC but today they are acting like chavs.

    I hope it manages to swim back out but an RSPCA spokeswoman is saying that "it doesn't look good".
