I am a happy man right now yes i am PORTUGUESE and honestly the standards of the referees in this world cup are appalling. Too many yellow cards and the players no saints are taking the most of it with acrobatic dives. Both teams should have behaved better but I was really displeased with the Dutch not returning the ball.

Now Portugal vs England wont that be a nice to watch can go either way but I have high hopes, we might have lost some important players especially deco (most stupid sent off ever) but lets be honest apart from the French the English matches were one of the worse to see.

And Figo should have been sent off for headbutting, but thats life He deserves a ban for that, tbh. But the Dutch didnt play very sportsman like, which suprised me, i wouldnt' have expected it from them.

You are right that we have been bad to watch most of the time, but with a better team, we can perform better (it always seems to be that way at least, so i think we are capable of winning you. Oh and btw, you may be a happy man now, but you'll probably be a dead man come Saturday, if we loose (altho since you're in Wales, you may be safe )

Good game England, although as usual we started to fall apart in the 2nd half.

I thought the portugal - holland game was an absolute disgrace, on the referee and the player's behalf. I am glad we are facing Portugal in the quarter finals, they did not look menacing or in control of the game properly at all, and they will not have Costinha and Deco for the next round.

Oh well, looks like we just have to wait for Ronaldo now....if Figo and Ronaldo both play, we better really think about upping our game!

Well not saying Italy would'nt win or deserve to have been down to 10men, but Australia did'nt deserve to lose to that penalty from the drama-queen Grosso - man he faked it good,...

I'm just glad that we(England) won't have to play them (unless they beat Arg - doubtful)

It would seem more likely then not, although i would still preffer them to beat Argentina if the germans fail to boot them off home ( I have money on germany to win, from the pure political aspects anyway )

Modern football is a farce, FIFA are pathetic. If you sneeze on a player thesw days you get booked. Normally tackels are yellow cards. Most handballs are yellow cards, even if there in the middle of the park. Any contact on the goalie is a foul.

    ****ing pathetic.

    You should'nt be.

All in all ,Ausies have supprised and played good clean football.

If it does increase the games popularity in Australia - then maybe next time you might go all the way

OMG that was the most horrible game I've ever seen. I wish both would go out and have a replay of Italy vs the Aussie's

I actually fell asleep during that...even the penalties weren't THAT exciting :/ But i did think in extra time they both put in a little more effort and Ukraine bringing on Milevsky added a bit to their game....and his penalty was very cool

Yup, worst game yet. Even the penalty shoot out was poor, and they're usually tense and exicting.

Confirmed, Deco will not play against England. Fifa have said that Portugal have no grounds to appeal against Deco's red card. Think it may have something to do with the fact that you can only appeal against a straight red, and not a yellow. Good news indeed.
