Now that Sweden is out..I don't know what to hope for . My mum's Italian so I guess it would be fun to cheer them on, although as it is right now it would be cool if Ghana went on forward. But since they are going to meet Brazil today, I think they have met their end. + I kinda hope it goes well for England, because they are at least equal to Sweden in their game +- some stuff...so it would be fun if they went on .

Unlucky Ghana....most of the game it was as though Ghana were Brazil and vice versa, looking at Ghanas passing and play. They just dont have the ability to score it seems, or defend...but that can be sorted in the tactics i guess. Was a really good match imo and a 3-0 scoreline really flatters Brazil as they didnt play up to the standard everyone had hoped for.

Oh, and how greedy was Cafu!! Ronaldinho was clearly open! And finally, well done to Ronaldo, top world cup goalscorer of all time!

It’s definitely time for diving to be punished retrospectively. If players knew they would be scrutinised after the game it would cut the worst of it out.

As for the supposed crack down on violent behaviour and dangerous tackles ... yes a yellow card for a head butt.

I'm bringing this back up, I totally agree, if Australia had won a penalty that way, it would have been in the Aussie papers the next day as "*player X* dives Australia into finals" or something, you'd never live it down.

That Italian guy (grosso?) should have had a red card, even if the other red card wasn't deserved. I'm not bitter about Australia losing - we had 50 minutes against 10men and didn't score - but I hate to see such crappy play and reffing in a good game. I would not want to see Australia win by such lame tactics, but the Italian colleagues I watched the game with were just happy about getting a penalty...

Anyone see Henry's nice dive last night? At least it was a foul, if not a yellow card worthy one, but his 'performance' is shameful.

Retrospective red cards for diving? Brilliant! Bring it on. That'll stop it in it's tracks.

Or another way of doing it would be, anyone who goes down and writhes around as if someones just cut their arms off - they automatically get stretchered off the pitch, and have to have 15 mins inspection and monitoring by a doctor before their allowed to go back on.

The performances are pathetic, it makes football pathetic - i'd love to chuck the pansy footballers into a game of gaelic footy and see how they fared

Rule of the thumb is if they go down and I mean down like a sack of spuds and don't move they generally tend to be injured, but if they go down and in mid-flight sprout arms that flap like a chicken and roll on the floor more than my eyes do after 8 bottles of becks (ask Nick...) then they are faking it.

Anyway, England this weekend - it's either make or break but going off all the previous matches we have no chance of lifting the world cup at all

We've been extremely lucky to the point I'm bloody sure that our goal-line has a ghost of 1 of the players from 1966 guarding in as we've had that many shots from the opposite team hit the post and bar it's untrue.
