working in a pub is ****, they are constantly looking for staff tho and its the sort of thing u can walk in, ask for a job and 10 minutes later your washing pans. kitchens tend to be hot and stuffy tho

i'd stay away from collecting glasses, especially if the pub is a bit of a dive as then u have to deal with pissed tw*ts.. however some people like working on the bar, i personally thought it was **** , having to be polite to drunk losers who are in there everyday, but ur still expected to call them 'mate'. forget that

mind you i did have one pub job where on the first day my new boss.. when i said 'alright mate' said... 'im not your mate, im your boss.' he was a grade-A cnut tho !

personally, at your age, the best job is probaly juggling .. if u have a bike u can get around nice and easy, and its sociable... plus free shnizzle for ur nizzle if u get me

Last warning on the language. If you need to star it out you shouldn't be saying it and re-oredering letters when its blatent what you are saying is also something you shouldn't be saying.

    Thanks.

SHow them you know alot about the goods they sell, demonstrateable (spelling i know but its quick reply...slowly now i typed all this...ho hum!) practice of using it and the technologies involved.

Show willing not just to the core hours but more, and willing to learn the company ways. Also nice to see a well turned out individual who is very talkative and able to fill silences. Inquire as to numbers of the store, sales...busy times...popular products for this area...growth areas. Remember not just TVs and XBOXs!

Ask them about commissions, if they think that's a major reason you're there then they'll forsee you fighting to be the top salesman, and therefore more manager's bonus in their pocket.

Although I've got a niggling feeling that someone said the commission thing was stopping... any current employees know about that?

Yep, theres no commision anymore. We just get monthly and quarterly bonuses instead. I'm not too sure how these work, but they are dependent on the trading margin of the store you work for. I'll know more on the 12th of this month when we get our first paypacket on this new system .

I hope you get the job at Blackpool. I've been trying to contact them for about 3 days now about a stock issue. No-one answers the phone there, not even on the managers phone .

I too also got a phone call today about the same job. But as im working full time at a printing company, im not going to bother.

Went for a year without a job after leaving school (had 2 months at morrisons) then i found a part time removals job (was still looking for another job) after a year i apply for the one im at now, and i've had currys phone me up and another job in leeds (which i didnt apply for) within 2 weeks.Hate it when that happens, like bus's. Wait around for ages then they all appear at once.

I've applied for 8 jobs, and got 2 interviews upto now (as you know).

So I'm hoping for at least one of them. I think though, I will be offered the other 6 as soon as I take one of these 2 if I'm offered either! It happened when I wanted to do car mechanics, had interviews at Fiat, Toyota & Vauxhall respectively, and wanted the Toyota job. At the Vauxhall interview, he offered me the job on the spot because he was so impressed with my eagerness. That day, both Fiat and Toyota rang and offered me the job, yet I'd accepted the Vauxhall one, which I left because the guy I was learning with...erm...you cant swear so I'll shut up

what job is it going for? If your going for a warehouse/support staff job, say you are good with paperwork, (there is ALOT and it is important that you do, the people in the company are useless and always trying to stitch you up (we get deliverys short on purpose so they can make sure we are checking it). Say you are also happy to work as a team, as they are trying to get the support staff to help with selling, to increase profit, which is what the new bonus system is based on.
