looks like the 8800gt is gonna be around the performance that we were all expecting from the 8600 series.
if the price is right these could do very well as mid range dx10 cards
It is listed on the Aria website for NEARLY 172 QUID WITHOUT POSTAGE!!
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=28919
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????????? This way to expensive and I think around 140 to 150 quid is a better price!! So still no affordable and good performing DX10 card!!
There is serious need for a good performing DX10 card under 150 quid in the vein of the 7900GS and X1950pro otherwise DX10 is going to be stillborn and most people will stick with a decent dx9 card for under 100 quid!!
Looks like the US is going to get this card for under 150 quid EVEN when you take in to account another 20% cost increase due to VAT!!
So when you include postage we are paying nearly 30 quid more for NOTHING!!

blame ATI. there is currently no competition out there. ATI need to get off there backside and make a card equaly has good has a gtx but half the price then surely that will wake up nvidia and put the price down on there cards
the gtx has been out for nearly a year and there is still no price drop on it :@
The 8800GT has to be faster than the 8800GTS 320mb at least since you can now get the latter for around 160quid if you look around;also more cards are reaching the secondhand market too.
172 quid for something that is nearly as good as a 8800GTS is not good enough especially after nearly a year has passed since the 8800 series was introduced.
I hope this is a typo and the actual price is nearer to the 140 quid some less well known sites are currently quoting.
I've seen a few leaked/unofficial benchmarks that show this card to be better than the current 8800gts and sometimes match a gtx. I've also seen prices for the card as low as £135 - thanks google cache.
I'd be interested to see how well they clock too.
I have this tingling sensation that two of these puppies in SLi for under £300 is going to be a rather good bet rather than a single 8800gtx. Only issue I have is that loads of nice games are coming out now and I have to play with a x1800xt - (puts on Eric Cartman voice) I want my eye candy, god dammit!

Dunno if this has already been posted, but it looks pretty authentic:
(G92)8800GT First review! - VR-Zone IT & Lifestyle Forum!
In summary - basically GTX performance with video decode offloaded to the GPU as well, in a single slot. Very nice indeed, methinks.

Yup, but how long is that?
that is looooooong. especially for a "not top of the range" card. anyone got the actual length so comparisons with existing cards can be made?

edit: also, power usage figures would be good aaaand how noisy is the cooler (iv started to care about that recently and want my next build to be a good bit quieter that the current)

i dont care how it looks. all i care about is performance. plus the case i indend in buying is the coolermaster stacker 830 which can fit double the length of this
I was looking for a single slot card for the gf's SFF.. but this looks like it's not going to be the one
