Best Monitor to purchase 24" to 28" max £500

I'm in the market for a new flat screen monitor. Which is the best one to go for within my budget.

A few must's

1. Must be Full HD
2. input's DVI / HDMI / component
3. memory card slots

Unless you like bigger pixels, it's best to stick with the 24" imo

What's the differance between the new/old revisions please? I've 2x2408's, I assume older revisions as I got them not long after they were released!

Newer models have less input lag apparently not sure if any other changes were made.

At the time which was just before Christmas you had more chance of winning the jackpot on the Euromillions than getting a new A01 rev 2408.

I gave up waiting on Dell and got a HP LP2475w and a Kingston card reader instead.

Unless you like bigger pixels, it's best to stick with the 24" imo

The bigger pixels are not noticeable and if nothing else it's much easier to work 1900x1200 on 27'' than what it is on 24''.

I got the 27'' Dell and can't fault it in any way.

Personally I have no problem working on a 24" 1920*1200 screen in fact the times I have used 30" 2560*1600 screens that has been fine as well.

It really is down to personal preference and in reality smaller pixels will generate sharper images than larger pixels they are therefore by definition better obviously the is a limit to how small you would want to go but 24" is no where near to small.

Anyway it really is a personal thing and when you buy a monitor you should attempt to use it first to make sure you are comfortable with the resolution if nothing else.

how does this HP comapre to the Dell A01 version?

Can't really say as I haven't had enough time with an A01 2408, however it does walk all over the A00 once set up correctly.

Out of the current non pro top end 24" screens, I rate the HP and NEC 24WMGX3 (assuming you can get a good deal on the NEC) with the A00 2408 a distant third.

If you can afford to wait then the LED backlight screens should be around shortly.
