Right Im never gonna be able to afford this moniter but just for laughs what is the lowest end graphics card you would need to get native rez in the newest games...

I'm using a 9600xt and I'm able to play at 1600x1200 on hl2 etc with my 2001fp
My 2005FPW arrived this morning. It looked great but was damaged at the back - the usb slots were bent as though they had been damaged in production. Dell have agreed to send out a replacement straight away so I'll have to try again. Pity cos there didn't seem to be any dead pixels. It still worked ok but it meant I couldn't use the USB ports. For £500 I'd rather have one that hasn't been knocked about....
Is anyone having any power-saving problems with this monitor? (or in my case the 2001FP)
If I turn mine off at the monitor and then switch it back on some hours later, the monitor refuses to come out of power saving mode (even if I disable it completely in windows!!).
Bloody good monitor apart from this though :-)

PS I am connected via DVI if that is relevant and drive it via a Nvidia 6800GT
Nope none of those problems
The new 2005FPW arrived today - 2 days shipping! Excellent. One dead pixel in the top left which is stuck on grey, but tiny and no problem really. It look the dogs doo dahs, though!
A question for all of you that have purchased the 2005FPW from dell UK.
Could someone confirm that the uk model has the 12ms response time and 20.1" screen.
I am asking because the dell UK site states the monitor as 16ms and 20" - which differs from everything I have read online (even dell US) about the model.
Trying to talk to someone from dell has proved pointless.
Thanks
I thought it was 16ms too ... although I bought the 2001FP I suppose

Just checked the DELL website and it is saying 16ms. I'm sure they said 12ms when I ordered it cos I remember checking. Still a great monitor though, but I haven't been able to use it for gaming yet as my new rig hasn't arrived.
Did you get yours from dell UK?Originally Posted by Detective
And does it say 12ms in the manual?
Just going to check. The manual wasn't very good and came on a CD. I got it from Dell a couple of days ago.
The manual says:
12ms typical (Grey to Grey) / 16ms typical (Black to White)
Not sure what that means. Don't know which it is now. Anyone any ideas?
can anyone with a PS2/Gamecube/Xbox hook up their console to the 2005fpw via Composite/Svideo and get back to me with the results?
Im wondering about the image quality, esp due to non native resolution (480i/480p) and also how the screen deals with 4:3 aspect ratio games, stretch? letterbox? pics would be even better
The response time varies depending on the old colour and new colour.Originally Posted by Detective
If the pixel changes from say dark orange to light orange the response time will be 12ms.
However if the pixel changes from an opposite/very different colour, e.g. black to white, then the response time will be 16ms.
This is true with all LCD screens. 16ms is still very quick though.
Does anyone know what CRT moniters are like when compared to LCD monitors - what are their ms refresh rates. I wonder how long it will be before LCD can catch up with CRT.
