Well done, and good on Dell too. I don't know many other companies that would've done the same. I am seriously tempted by one of these screens now, but I can't justify that amount of money at the mo. If my Sony CRT died however..... <gets hammer>

I ordered mine n the 22nd, got a phone call a few hours later to arrange delivery on the 24th...

Your milage may vary, though I'd assume the week before xmas to be one of the busiest for couriers.

I recieved mine, and its perfectly fine.

One pixle stuck on red, no noticable backlight issue. There may be other pixles, but they aren't noticable, so Im very happy

    Like wise, got mine today.
Looks like one sub pixel is dodgy but you really have to look very very hard at 2" from the screen to notice. Overall, its a fantastic screen.

This probably sounds thick but I'm getting an AMD FX55 system, 1GB, x800xt soon but I'm ordering a DELL ULTRASHARP 2005FPW in the next few days. I've seen that a few posts say that most games aren't supported at the max res on the monitor 1650 x 1050. Will they still run at 1280 x 1024 ?

    Secondly

I have a Sony PCG - K215B Vaio laptop with a normal 9pin monitor socket at the back. Can I run the Dell monitor on this until I get the new desktop to see if it works ok? Any ideas?

you have a VGA port... if so, then yes it will work, and yes the monitor should be able to run at a lower ress but it will look like crap!

Thanks, I've just orderded the 2005fpw from Dell at £494 with delivery! Sounds a good price to me. Now I just need to order the rig to go with it.

Check out the Widescreen gaming forum. Practically every game which doesn't support the native widescreen resolution of this monitor, has some sort of fix, or way in which you can make it support it.

I used their suggestions for TLOTR: The Battle for Middle Earth, and have it running at the native resolution, and it looks amazing!
