Had an interesting episode today. FSB froze. No matter what value i entered all i got was stock speed. This was after i got a oc failure with [f1] [f2] option. Multiplier & all other settings ok.

Ended up having to pull battery, before i could restore normal performance. Initial clear cmos failed. Almost reminiscent of Commando Had tried reflashing bios but got cmos checksum errors.

Normal service has been resumed & all seems ok again @ 3.6

I think that you have been torturing it again with the electrodes and the battery acid

All you need now is some kind of faulty sata socket/connector and the jobs a good un

Naw I think it's got bored running 3.6 every day, without much play & tweaking lately, & then been uprooted & shifted 200 miles

I seem to remember that when I needed to pull the battery out, that was when the RAM was dying, or dead......fingers crossed although its only round the corner for swapping it now isnt it?

They must be about 3 months old now, so I would think that they have been updated by now.

Which drivers are you after? The chipset ones?

Re: P5K Deluxe Wifi AP Thread.

    I have a question.

Which motherboard will perform better overall?

    The Asus Striker Extreme?
    or the P5K Deluxe?

By overall I mean in regards to overclocking/gaming/benchmarking/etc...

Re: P5K Deluxe Wifi AP Thread.

    Hi welcomee to the forum.
Well you shouldn't be too suprised if people in this thread say the p5k;lol:

imo striker is better if you need SLI, otherwise P5K.

    luck

Re: P5K Deluxe Wifi AP Thread.

    Thanks for the fast response.

I actually have the P5K Deluxe in my computer as I type this. I also have the Strike Extreme coming on Wednesday. I am currently sitting on an E6600 @ 3.6ghz and ram at 940mhz @2.3v 4-4-4-12 with my P5K. This board overclocks far better than my old Foxconn 680i SLI. But the RAID seems slower.

I calculate 1M digits of Pi in 14seconds.

Re: P5K Deluxe Wifi AP Thread.

    Hello guys,

for the last few weeks i was rather busy at work, and i didnt have any time to play.
So i had my E6850 just running at stock, RAM too. Now i just wanted to oc it a bit again,
using old settings which didnt make any trouble before. 9x380, 1.450v, RAM 950 or so, with 2.30v.

Settings saved, reboot, no picture. Tried the crashfree bios stuff (unplug power, reboot), no success.
Did that a few times, then i did a cmos reset too. Still no luck.

Any hints? I doubt that i have killed my cpu, because i has worked fine before with a lot more
    voltage and higher clocks.

Re: P5K Deluxe Wifi AP Thread.

Yes, sounds very much like one of your sticks of RAM is dead or dying.

Take one of them out, see if it boots, if not try the other one, also try each one in different slots...it could be that they are both dead, and while this isnt as common, it is possible as I have done it twice in the last year
