Sorry I thought you meant lost was more predicatable..
24 is a bit these days I agree, but there is always some nice twists.
spot on. thats how 24 hs been since season 1. imagine watching that for 7 seasons. for me that can get boring watching the same thing over and over again.
i prefer lost as its very unpredictable and has alot of variety in the series. sometimes its like 24 with its boom, running and shooting episodes and then their comes a time where its full on drama with no action and just focuses on the storyline at hand which is ALOT more interesting then an AGENT fighting against a terrorist(how original and unique is that?).
each to their own as they say
My one major dissapointment with 24 was the beginning of season 5, it lended itself to a very different season but generally got a bit samey, which was a shame.
That said it's still to this day one of my favourite shows and I consider it more important to watch than Lost. This season is much improved though, which is nice.
They are just making Lost up as they go along
They may written it all but it has the feel its made up as they go along. One episode people are dead then they are back .Jumping back and forward 30 years at a time. Its a good way to drag out a few more episodes.
I have not caught any of episodes from the latest season of Lost but I like the fact that they keep you thinking and do things which you do not expect. It can become confusing at times but in a good way!! It is great that such a series has been allowed to exist instead of the lame derivative crap that is on the box usually.
I pretty much only watched 24 because of Jack Bauer, Kiefer is an excellent actor and Jack Bauer is incredibly intense, he carries the show. I think in S5 there was a clear lack of Jack, the audience simply can't get the same thrill when responsibility is pushed to other cast members. However in saying that, S6 has been the best yet - the new characters have been written quite well.

I don't think Lost is the same pristine, tightly written, clever show that it was, however its quality far exceeds some other shows on at the moment.
Even though for me Lost isn't what it once was, I think I'll reserve judgement till they've finished - then go through it all and rip it apart.
