I used to be with virgin, never really had any major problems with them! cockups at their end had left me without tv / internet for a few days but it could of been weeks!! i really think they should invest in updating their network a little though, its too easy to bypass their outdated tv encryption (nagra1) and just as easy to clone a mac on a modem for free internet!! its even a superior service aswell because if your speed gets capped you can easily change mac! not that i ever had anything to do with any of this of course !!

Virgin has been great for me, on the 10mb service and i hardly ever see any throtling - (never around to dl peak times anyway) had hardly any issues, think 1 outage for 20mins in 3 years. Very happy.

Re: Virgin Doing A Good Job!

VirginMedia really has turned Cable Internet around. NTL used to have terrible service and even worse customer support. I remember when I was paying for 10mbps and getting close to 512kbps and their argument was "we advertise as UP TO 10mbps, it's not guaranteed"!!

it's always been different in different regions & in my case NTL were fine & tbh so were VM from a service pov.
It was their incompetent billing department that finally made me start to move services (broadband >O2 & next week Sky+ gets installed) away & by the end of July I will be VM free.

Fair enough, I should have added that my experience comes from year-long suffering in the Cambridgeshire region! ;-)
