    Have you looked at Xilo?

Anyone know if Xilo are any good? The price for their 16MB unlimited seems quite good

    Re: O2 Price rise

I just talked to O2. People who were existing customers will continue to be on the same package after their contract ends and be on a rolling contract. If you don't like O2 and want to leave, just give 9 days notice and you are free to go.

If they go for a new 12 months contract , then only their package will be changed to the new ones and speed throttling will apply. They will also get a £2.50pm discount. The speed throttling justification was that to have everyone to be able to use the internet without getting slowed down by heavy downloaders.

Or a better justification would be that they don't want to spend the money to install enough capacity for the number of customers they've taken on

    Re: O2 Price rise

The max I can get is 8 on the bt exchange I'm with so paying more for the same somewhere else is pointless. I know Virgin are horrendous for shaping and random resectoring. I was looking at be as they would provide the same connection as o2 with a better package, O2 use be's infrastructure anyway.

    Re: O2 Price rise

I wanted to move to their Pro service but I can't now becuase I don't want to be hit with caps. I won't hit 250GB a month (this month I did 31.2GB) but I am never really convinced the systems ISP put in place actually work as expected (Look at VMs system)

"Broadband" is becoming increasingly embarrassing when compared to the rest of the world, *sigh. Soon we'll be slower than many third world countries.

    Re: O2 Price rise

Here's a question: does it annoy ISP's when someone decides to upload all day? I've finally decided to get on with online backup, and it's going to take a few weeks, if not months of continuous upload to get everything I want backed-up.. backed-up.

    I use Belkin Wireless N.
