    Re: Bloody horseboxes!

Haha **** off, you're all pathetic. Every single one of you. You clearly have no social life, none of you, look at you sitting here writing like an essay of a rant, it just makes me laugh so much that you criticize us, whereas we horsepeople actually GET OUT. Thanks for the website link babe, but if I wanted comfort, i'd go and see my own horses.

    ****ing grow one.

    Mind your language dear.

Invoking the swear filter, especially when it is directed at another forum member (or indeed members) is not something that will endear you to the admins. Especially in your second post

_sexomatic, as a member of the online gaming community myself, I find you most narrowminded. You probably think i'm bias to my fellow gamesmen and women, but I can assure I am not. You have made your decision on looks alone, and your comments are narrow minded and naive which show a complete lack of understanding of what the 'gaming-world' is all about. We are percieved to be the snobs, but you couldn't be more wrong. Of course, you've got the odd bad apple among us, but we're not perfect right? We are not in it for the money, we are infact in the gaming society because of our passion for frags. This is why I find your comments grossly insulting. For such an avid hater of us and 'stupid online games', you appear to know alot about them. Maybe you're jealous that you can't afford a computer and game? Maybe you're jealous that the gaming world is a very social 'circle' and you're not involved? Sorry we 'game on-line or whatever you think it is, but WE ARE DOING IT FOR OUR SELF EXPRESSION. It is not appropriate to go whizzing around at 90mph, and if we did, our games would not get played. WE TRAVEL OUR COMPUTERS IN CARS BECAUSE RETARDS LIKE YOU, AND MANY OTHER DRIVERS THINK ITS ACCEPTABLE TO DRIVE BY US AT 70MPH, MUSIC BLARING; MAKE IT UNSAFE TO WALK WITH YOUR PC TO LANS, ETC. You have shown that you are a cruel, shallow and impatient little cockroach that seriously needs to grow up. I cannot begin to comprehend how you, and the rest of you bloody idiots on this forum, can be so petty and straitlaced. You're all assholes.

    Re: Bloody horseboxes!

hi _sexomatic, and welcome to HEXUS.

First off, I'd just like to make it very clear that my original post on this subject was made ooh... almost 3 years ago... so I guess there's probably some BIG hills between here and wherever you set off from in your horsebox to get here.

Ok, sorry, like a Polish veterinarian, that was a cheap shot.

Anyhoo, my original rant was totally intended as a bit of fun. A lighthearted look at things that wind us all up. I mean, how many times have you sat cursing and swearing, (and yes, you do love a good swear don't you?) behind a tractor loaded sky high with hay bales? There's nothing wrong with having a vent now and again, is there?

And it was very clearly meant in good humour, so I'm still failing to see why everyone gets so upset.

Well, when I mean everyone, I mean horse owners. It seems only the French have yet to come in here and decry my ravings... but then again, any time in France is pretty near to breakfast, lunch or dinner, so I can see how they haven't managed to fit it in. (and if that doesn't get some garlic action going in this thread, I don't know what will.)

Anyway, yet again I digress, so let's just give your comments a quick deconstruction:

First off, is your keyboard as knackered as your horsebox? Try hitting the return key every once in a while, preferably at the end of sentences. Just a style point... but then, that's what dressage is all about so I know you'll get where I'm coming from.

No, not really. I know several horse-mad people and though the bloke walks with a waddle and has a high pitched voice from landing on the pommel once too often, the girls have thighs like iron and figures that'd make Venus de Milo blush... And I find it hard to be naive just a few years before 40 hits... but hey, if having an opinion is naive, then we all are... and what's to argue with having an opinion based on experience? (Though I admit there was a certain amount of fanciful extrapolation of ideas in my post, that was the obvious joke bit)

Keeping a horse comes cheap does it? No... didn't think so. Doesn't matter to me anyway.. you could be into Morris Dancing, ferret greasing or frog juggling for all I care, just don't let your past-time interfere with my past-time. And I'll let the 'passion for equines' bit slide as it's just too easy a target!

Sorry, I didn't mean to insult... oh wait... Ok, I did write it to prompt a response, so frankly I'm amazed that it's been going for over 2 1/2 years now. Go me!

And no, I'm not jealous. I don't mind horses and have even been out on a couple of hacks but walking around with hay in my hair smelling of manure is not my idea of a social group.

And money has nothing to do with it either, it's perhaps more the skewed perspective that 'horsey' types have on life... with everything becoming less important than their horse(s). Sorry, but anyone that finds nothing wrong with getting up at 4am, shovelling poo for two hours whilst walking around in skin-tight trousers has something rather wrong with them... fabulously toned thighs or not.

I'm not asking anyone to go whizzing around at 90mph, but doing something approaching the speed limit isn't too much to ask, no? And if you were truly worried about hurting your horses, why put them in a box and drive off with them in the first place?

Anyway, regardless, I still see no sign of even the slightest hint of remorse for what is basically a selfish action. Driving slowly to protect an animal, yes, sure, no problem. Holding everyone up so that you can enjoy your hobby, without any regard for how you're impacting on other road users' time? Pretty crappy if you ask me. Next you'll start yelling and slinging names, pretty much reverting to type...

Hehe, who is narrow-minded and naive now? Yes, all drivers, once they hit 70 mph grow a reversed baseball cap, play bangin' drum and bass at ear-bleeding volumes and only know how to drive at top speed.. Who's getting all uppity about misconceived stereotypes now now?

I in no way condone ANYONE to drive pass a horse and rider at anything other than a snails pace so as not to scare the horse an unseat the rider and I have never done anything than just that. I am always totally respectful of a horse and rider on the road and give them a slow, wide berth. To be honest, having the side of my car pummelled by a panicked horse is just too much explaining to the insurance company... as is the arse-shaped dent you sometimes get in the roof from a thrown rider... (joke!)

Nah, I'm not cruel. I love my kids, I care for my friends and I always stop and help the less fortunate when I'm out on the road... even those nice little foxes being chased by some of your lot. I'm also very far from impatient, as my documented work with special needs kids shows, (no, I'm not kidding, I did a lot of stuff in the St Albans area), and I'm 37, married, the father of two kids, bought my first house at 21 and buried a parent at 28... Other than growing a beard like Old Father Time, I'm not sure how much more I can grow up.

Oh, and way to go to undermine your argument with a sweeping generalisation on the intellect of the forum members... potty mouth.

Ok, now you're just being rude. If you really want to have an adult discussion, form a sensible argument instead of just kicking off the swear filter.

Do you not see that just being abusive and using profanity makes you look foolish?

Come on, be that grown up you've accused me of not being and make a sensible argument rather than ranting.

If I pressed a few raw nerves, now's your chance to say what riles you and see if you can't change things.

Oh, and yes, this is a technical forums but I promise you, as misguided as you believe I am on 'horsey types' you're even further from reality on what us so-called 'geeks' are like and actually do.

For instance, I'll bet you your horsebox spare tyre, (for what it's worth), that I've travelled far more and enjoyed more cultures than you have.

Or you could drop into the HEXUS.social area and come along to one of our many meets? I'd give you a lift but I'm not sure you'd like my music....
