Re: Kids pestering you whilst you're gaming

    Oh man, that is sad.

    Family or games?

    Hmm.

Leave everything behind, go abroad somewhere and play games 24/7 - your idea of heaven?

There will come a time when you wish your kids did say 'Daaaaad....' and you will rue your present POV.

But you'll find that out for yourself... one day.

Some people just shouldn't have kids, seriously.

That ain't saying I'm perfect, my kids used to irritate me as well but I can't say I ever remember getting niggled about being interupted by my offspring over a bloody computer game.

    And I like computer games.

    A bit sad, really.

I only game when the wife and baby are both in bed and even that's not a guarantee (I do the baby night shift). Good thing I can get by on very little sleep else I'd have no gaming time .

Re: Kids pestering you whilst you're gaming

The amount of deaths on FPS on the PS3 that are due to little Finley needing attention, just as I spawn is shocking....

It can be frustrating, and annoying. But the little sod knows just when to smile.........

Re: Kids pestering you whilst you're gaming

I remember when our clan had over 100 members, there was a couple who used to play on our server all the time - they had a baby.

One night, they left the talk button on ventrillo pressed, so we could hear what was happening.

They basically stuck their 6 month old baby in a cot behind them - All night - and fed him/her occasionally.

We booted them out, when we realised what was happening.

FonZy = Involve them, dont ignore

Zak Jr is into some games on Sair' iPod Touch now, and can change apps and make his way to the Doodle Sketch app change colour, draw, clear the screen etc..

and he knows wen Sair dies in Doodle Jump. .. he recognises the sound... "oh Mummy... fall down?"

Heh. My son now leans over and tells me - "Shoulda used the RPG Dad."
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

I only play when little un has gone to bed, apart from when he wants to play Lego Star Wars or Monsters vs. Aliens on the Wii. Single player, he has the nunchuk, and I have the contoller! Sorted.

Re: Kids pestering you whilst you're gaming

Best thing to do is to buy them their own system, whether it be a PC, or a playstation 2 or eggbox - the consoles are cheap enough now but obviously the pc could be more depending on the age of the child. But then the pc could be more useful as well for them, eg homework if they're old enough.

    Lucky sod.

I get more a "daaaadda, dadddda" followed by angry german kid style banging on my keyboard, or Hayden decides she like my MX1000 and tries to eat it all the time. You can guarantee that as soon as the PC is switched on and you hear the beep, look down and Hayden has crawled right to your feet waiting to be picked up.

When I try to get on the Xbox 360 it is even worse. She keeps unplugging my wired controllers, unplugging my foot pedal on the drums on rock band and keeps pressing the power button when it's lit up.

The little sod laughs as well when shes does all this with the most evil cackle I've ever heard from a 9 month old which makes it hard to moan about it
Man this is exactly that I get!

My Ultra Flat X keyboard became a toy for Alex after he managed to get 3 keys out...

Double socket that powers both my PS3 and telly/VM had to have cover put on, like here to stop him playing with the switches.

Beeps or any noise making devices are No No. He crawls instantly trying to reach them.

Not to mention these bite marks on remote control(s) and whatever lays around...
