Does this really get on anyone else's nerves occasionally?
If you're in game, in a tight spot & it's "Dad" "Dad" "Daaaad!" in your ear & you lose concentration & get wiped out, I try not to feel allbut I'm ashamed to say I do occasionally.

I get that...As long as you're aware of it, it's not all bad. We're human after all.
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
Count to ten and tell yourself how much joy they bring to your life, if not how about retroactive abortion? What did the little one want anyway?

You mean you get the chance to load the game up?
Lucky sod.
I get more a "daaaadda, dadddda" followed by angry german kid style banging on my keyboard, or Hayden decides she like my MX1000 and tries to eat it all the time. You can guarantee that as soon as the PC is switched on and you hear the beep, look down and Hayden has crawled right to your feet waiting to be picked up.
When I try to get on the Xbox 360 it is even worse. She keeps unplugging my wired controllers, unplugging my foot pedal on the drums on rock band and keeps pressing the power button when it's lit up.
The little sod laughs as well when shes does all this with the most evil cackle I've ever heard from a 9 month old which makes it hard to moan about it![]()

Food? How unreasonable! At least your not having to get up and do intra-night feeds with a bottle anymore! I guess you have to anticipate there needs a little that way you can "expect" your going to be interrupted so you can enjoy when you don't. Well that what I keep telling myself, but at the moment my daughter seems to like to sit in her carrier on my desk, watching me game. My time is numbered.
Its natural to be disappointed as its something you wanted to do, but it will still be there later or another day, as long as you can just keep it as a feeling I don't see its a problem, its when it bubbles over into how you behave the issues start.

Radical suggestion here, so feel free to shoot me down, but why not just game when the little 'uns are in bed?
Dunno about the others but when they're in bed, there are priorities, and the first one is to actually sit down with my other half and have an adult conversation. gaming has to be squeezed in when you can. Sometimes that's when the kids are up and about.
Nb the kids are old enough to make their own toast etc and they had tea about 6pm.

I used to do that when mini-fishcake was very small. Playing Micro Machines, I gave him the spare controller and he used to love 'driving' the car around
Now, we play games together anyway!

As the first poster said, providing you recognise that you have to contain it, I think you're normal.
If you hit them, that ain't normal. (though none of us appear to do that. Good stuff).
Personally, I wait till they're asleep, though. Except for the wii. 4 year old loves watching Lego Batman ("Men jumping around!"). Mrs Shooty* less keen on lego batman as some characters have guns.
