Network gaming with them is a good idea, you will win every game for at least a year until they get better!

Re: Kids pestering you whilst you're gaming

    I don't game.

So when my daughter "Pesters me", I make the time for her or I tell her that business and income requires that I continue working.

For the past twenty years or so I've felt that gaming is actually idle time, following an embarrassing 18hr episodic odyssey with Sim City that almost cost me a customer.

    That made me lol:-P

Tbh it's my mum who annoys me when gaming. 'Have a break now', - 'Stretch your legs', 'Is this revision? ' and worst of all - can you pass me the --- from the shelf.

^ that's what you get for being a foot taller than your mum.

    :-D

I tried this with a pad with no batteries.! He soon realised his didn't have lights so wanted mine. Put batteries in and didnt have it synched and he still wants mine! Tried tricking him by using the wrong pad so he gave me the good one then took it back!

Re: Kids pestering you whilst you're gaming

I'm so glad that I prohibited my daughter from playing those console games. She found bliss in making a game out of actually building things and is now (as only a junior in high school) an ace programmer in several languages and and a pretty good DBA too.

Ironically, one might observe, she now builds sites for people addicted to gaming and makes money off of their idleness.

Re: Kids pestering you whilst you're gaming

I love my gaming, but time with my 2 year old lad comes first so I don't game when I can enjoy time with him.

I'm convinced by both of the above. I have a spare quad core PC with a GTX470 in it that I'll be building up for co-op gaming as soon as I get a 2nd monitor.

Re: Kids pestering you whilst you're gaming

Kids should be out exploring and enjoying mother nature, not sitting indoors playing games 24/7

Times aren't the same anymore where people lived a happy and healthy life

Yeah we should all be outside ploughing the fields and tending our plots and riding horses.

Re: Kids pestering you whilst you're gaming

Just like when a child bites you, you bite them back so that they learn "Actions & Consequences", when my 15 month old Son bashes my keyboard midgame and causes my character to sustain injuries....

    Bash, Injure, Action, Consequence.

Seriously, I pause the game and chase him around for a while. Recently by pretending to be a cow... Then once he's made himself nice and tired..BED TIME!

And I haven't made life any easier for myself. My 4 year old now wants to play games with me but I now have twin baby boys. I'm not going to get much gaming time!

Another revival... So may as well post an update.

Nothings changed for me, except I am now predominantly "Zurg" or a flying dinosaur.
