That is just pointless really. 400fsb will just mean that you have to add extra voltage to the NB usually. Chances are, your cpu will do 3.2 using the 9x multi easy enough.

Ok woops, well thing is I just thought of 400 cos it wud run in sync with the Ram. Well cud u suggest a mediumish Oc then, maybe 350 fsb?

Yeah sorry, I had read it awhile back but I just recapped cos my mind is like a sieve Ok so Im gonna try 350, Rams running at 700 ofcourse(1:1). All the other Bios settings are excatly as in ur guide. Just a quickie question, can u run orthos and lets say browse the net at the same time or will it not work aswell then?

If you follow the guide from start to finish, youll end up with a half decent overclock. Once you have done that, youll be able to go further on your own.

Read the words, dont just look at the pictures

Yes, orthos will run fine in the background and the pc should be useable.

Ok I know its earlly days but its looking good so far. Been running Orthos for 1hr30 and the temps are:

Tat: 45&43 now..did reach 50 earlier cos the room was warmer so I think the 50 is more accurate
Coretemp: 47&47 also reached about 50 earlier.

    Thats at 350x9=3150.05MHz

Just an update from me (i know this isnt about overclocking directly but it is a by-product), about the link width incorrectly sitting at x1. I did a little research and it seems this is common problem with the p5b deluxe series when overclocking. I fixed it by setting the pci-e frequency to 115 and the northbridge voltage to 1.55. Hope that helps anyone with similar problems.

It just reset for me, I set it to 110 (might have been 115), booted to windows, then back to the bios and set it back to auto, no voltage change to NB and its been fine ever since.

Hopefully theyll fix it with a bios update.

Ok so 350fsb works fine acc to Orthos, temps were about 38 average. I dont really want to try 400fsb cos like u said b4 u wud need to up the volts for Nb etc. See the most important thing I do on the pc is gaming, thats why I do want to 400fsb so that my Ram wud be running at 800 which wud probably give me better/smoother/quicker gameplay or I cud just be wrong there.

Am I doing something wrong here Clunk? I did do a 11hr Orthos test for the 350fsb. Ok well Im trying 400fsb now, and know its a biggish step from 350 but what the heck, and I wud be really happy if it worked at 400 cos then my Ram wud be running at the right speed. A question on Temps, Tat is showing 60, Coretemp 63 and Asus probe 70, which is the better guestimate.
