No worries at all. I've been through the exact same thing with my CPU too by the way.
Its hard because first off, when people are comparing temperatures, they sometimes compare the wrong ones... For example, "SpeedFan" and other programs like that, take the temperature from the surface of the CPU, so its lower. (yours would probably be in the 20's in SpeedFan.). CoreTemp (and Intel TAT - and other similar programs) take the temperature from right inside the chip in one of its hottest parts.
So the exact same chip may be 30C in SpeedFan and yet 40C in CoreTemp at the same time, for example. So sometimes people will compare the wrong temperatures.
Also, prices are cheaper in America, so watercooling isn't as expensive as here. And even CPU heatsink+fans are cheaper, so they can generally just get the best CPU fan available basically, and its not very expensive.
And then theres the temperature of rooms. The exact same PC will be one temperature in a cool (air conditioned?) room, and then a lot higher temps in a warm room. And lastly, all chips are different. Some run a bit higher than others etc. And then theres the heatsinks... some are perfectly flat, and some are really gozzy, and theres everything in between.
So it varies a lot.
Having said all that, I definitely think yours is a tad high, but like I said, its just not enough to be bad, and the rear case fan could make all the difference. And the thermal paste may settle and take another degree or two off. So if the rear fan knocks of about 6 degrees, and the paste settles and knocks off another 1 or 2, then you are on target with what the people on the other forum said. And if not, it shouldn't be far off.
Let us know how it goes anyway. I'd be really interested to see what it goes to with a rear fan. And if its not perfect, its still sortable. It may just need the thermal compound putting on again. (Pain in the arse to do.... but I've done it about 5 times with my chip, and every single time... the chip has different temps when I put it all back together ).
