CM690 has placement for two top 120mm -
additionally it can also fit
2 side fans upto 140mm
1 rear 120mm
1 front 120mm
1 bottom upto 140mm
also right panel 80x10mm
however it only comes with 1 side 120mm, 1 rear 120mm and 1 front 120mm.
Given a choice even now, and despiteteh Antec 300 being a fair bit cheaper, CM690 would still be it for me. So many great features.
would 140mm fans be better on the side than say 120mm? or little difference, i was thinking of getting some more smokey grey akasa 120mm ones as i bought 1 for my current case(dont fit xD) and its silent on max. Does the cm have dust filters? if not ill find some .
There aren't many 140mm fans out there are there? I'd say stick to 120mm good performing or low noise ones, unless you can find 140mm ones that suit your needs.
any recommendations on 120mm fans? ones in the < £5 region, smokey grey ones are great but if there are betters ones then please say (personal recommendations as specs are always wrong)
For noise the sharkoon silent eagles are probably the best in that price range. They are pretty good for case fans. Don't push tonnes of air which the akasa's do quite well but they are certainly very quiet which the akasa's aren't always.
In my CM690 I use a Yate Loon 140mm for the side VGA
2x Scythe S-Flex Fs on the top
Yate Loon 120mm front intake (forced at 5V)
Zalman F3 for the rear exhaust.
I must say Zalmans are pretty much the best sleeved fans you can get, especially if you use a fan controller. (they come with a 7V wire and rubber mount things if you like those)
Sharkoons seem to do well in tests, but I have the 120mm SE 1000 and 2000, the 1000 is silent but seriously under powered, and the 2000 is just too loud, even with a fan controller the motor noise is quite audible.
I'm yet to see a case that doesn't lol .. not sure though
It's £45 on scans today only.. oooo

I've got this case(CM690), and I can confirm, yes it does
If you look at the picture above, there's a whole column of different screws next to the drive bays
And just looking back at your previous posts, I saw you mentioned about the case not being able to take dual slot cards. I've put in a dual slot 3870 and it fits in fine. The only thing is that one of the blue plastic quick release thingamyjigs won't pop down all the way, but you could always take it out.

are those rubber mounts worth the money? i was gunna get 3 morwe fans(have 1 already) but could get 3 in total and a set of them for the 2 on the side panel or just 4 intotal, are they really that annoying(vibrations etc) on the side?
also, does the case have enough mounts for 4 fans or would 3 suffice?
decided ill buy 2 more fans xD shame cant get it delviered this satuerday, would of been nice .
There's enough space to put in an additional 5 fans (1 80mm behind the mobo & 4 bigger fans (up to 140 mm) - two at the top, one on the side and one at the bottom)
I put an additional 2 fans in, at the bottom and top. It does get a little noisy from fan noise, but it doesn't seem to vibrate on the side. Everything is nice and cool with the additional 2 fans so you should be fine.
Just a quick question,
just wondering if the motherboard only has 3 connectors for chasis fans how can you fit up to 7?
it might just be a stupid question, but it seems quite valid to me! lol
thanks
