Run them full speed directly off the PSU, or if you want to control the speed, use a fan controller. (You will also see reference to a 'seven volt wire' - this is where the fan is connected between the 12V and 5V rails giving 7 volts, although I'm not sure how that woould affect PSU regulation as you are cross connecting two ostensibly independant rails - but I'd need to see a cct diagram to be definitive about it - personally I wouldn't do it)

If you look at the picture above, there's a whole column of different screws next to the drive bays

And just looking back at your previous posts, I saw you mentioned about the case not being able to take dual slot cards. I've put in a dual slot 3870 and it fits in fine. The only thing is that one of the blue plastic quick release thingamyjigs won't pop down all the way, but you could always take it out.
was it easy to put in? im thinking about getting either a 9800gtx or 9800gx2 and the CM690 and was worried about the blue thingys not being able to take the weight (especially the 9800gx2, weighing in at 1.15kg) how much does the 3870 weigh? and is there anyway you could adapt the case so you could screw the gfx in?

the blue tool less things are good and strong in my opinion, most of the weight is held by the motherboard and its only there to keep it in place, i believe you can use screws on it if you want but cant remember fully, but id say the blue things are stronger than just a little screw.

douglasb - the card was very easy to put in. you can put screws in instead of using the quick release clips if you want, it just means that the clips will stick out a bit. No need to mod the case at all.

I'm not sure how much the 3870 weighs - I got the Asus version so you could try searching for that one. If I had to guess i'd say about 3/4 of a kilo, but I'm probably wrong. I wouldn't worry too much about the weight - the card has to go in somewhere and i'm positive the CM690 can take it.
