I can't see anywhere in the manual stating that it won't support 1.45v but I'm not sure that it does. Would it not just run it higher anyway? Don't I need it higher than 1.45v to get a decent speed from it?

this has happened to me before and it was because i hadnt put my heatsink on properly my sk-7 has 4 sticky pads on the bottom 1 had moved from its original position and this caused the heatsink not to sit on the cpu properly as soon as i put the pad back it booted up ok
also you might have a dodgy cmos battery
but i think its either your heatsink or you have a faulty psu i dont think youve fried your new cpu

Ive read from the start of the thread, have u been home yet since the idea of the heatsink being wronly seated was made? just to know how u got on with that.
one thing that might have happened - ive never heard of it but its logical in my head - is that if the board isnt capable of putting out 1.45v, and still tried, perhaps that shafted something?

Im pretty sure that mobo dont support mobile chips, and will boot with a voltage of 1.65. Not really a problem, as you maybe able to lower it in the BIOS to 1.45
Check your heatsink and follow the advice given in this thread, there has been some really good posts . Well done guys
If it turns out to be your BIOS, i cant flash it for you. All i ask is that you pay postage both ways.
Agent dug me out of the cack when I ruined mine....
but mine did NOTHING....not even beep...nothing....dead. Soit deffo needed flashing at...
Agent is a pro flasher
