Thanks Phil, built it on Saturday

Enjoying seeing my games running in 1080p res maxed out details, been playing Witcher 2 and Bulletstorm mainly over the weekend. Played through Bulletstorm on PS3 and ran it briefly on my lappy but neither compare to this setup I have now. PC gamer at heart and chuffed with my new rig

Updated score for me now. My EVGA 560TI SC had faulty ram so had to RMA it. Now running an MSI GTX570 Twin Frozr III OC, sweet card and really good build quality.

    New score 5172

this looks like it needs a big old bump and a gauntlet laid down.

Got rid of my Xfire setup and Did complete rebuild so here is the first single GPU config on here to go over 7000 points

    i5 2500k @ 4.5
    8gb ram
Msi gtx 580 twin frozr ii oc 887/1774/2150 @ 1100mv

    Very nice danroyle

I take it you mean single core, single card rather than just a single card??

Re: hexus 3Dmark11 charts - who has got the fastest pc?

Thats fine, just thought I'd ask the question!!

I used to have a 5970 and I was impressed with the performance on the card considering it was a year plus old and a 580 was just keeping up with it (depending on game wise )

What have you upgraded from before you got your SB setup?

i had an amd x6 and two 5870's and while they scored 7600 ish on 3d mark 11 my in game performance is better and more consistent with the 580 the 5870's were so hit and miss on performance. And when i sold them i made a healthy chunk of the cost of upgrading which is always a bonus

Re: hexus 3Dmark11 charts - who has got the fastest pc?

I have found for a while sadly that the AMD's have been a little bit behind the times when it came to gaming performance and the Intel's went a lot quicker..

I went from an AM2 setup to a Conroe system years ago and I have been with Intel since... I dont think I'll be upgrading from my current i7 rigs until they bring out an 8c/16ht CPU and depending on who's is faster, I'll just get that

I think that's what I'm going to be afraid of most when I do have to upgrade, the cost of it. All of the two systems I've pretty much had from new and the motherboards alone were £400+ each I think it could be an expensive upgrade when I do upgrade!!

OUCH i'm a middle of the road motherboard kind of guy dont see how i can get that much more out of a £280 asus rampage with my 2500k than i do with the sabertooth p67 which is about half the price the money i saved on motherboard gave me the option to go for a better graphics card. All in all this REbuild cost me £750 and i made £4-500 on my old bits so was a reasonable step up

Money I spend on hardware I dont really think about as its a hobby, I just dont worry about it. I enjoy it, get my monies worth from it and then enjoy it I will probably be saving a few quid after these two rigs are finished and I honestly cant wait until they are I think according to my accounts program, I've somehow mananged to spend more on my computers (just hardware!) than I have my mortgage!! I'm scared....

Well I've just had through the 3 3Gb GTX 580 I have ordered and at the moment for a single screen, using two of them is blowing everything else I've owned out of the water

I used to have a pair of 5970's but only used one in each rig but I must say, these 580's although they havent been out as long as the 5970, are very impressive

I almost forgot, here's a single and SLI result for my EVGA 580 card/s
Both done using the same system:

Re: hexus 3Dmark11 charts - who has got the fastest pc?

I overclocked the Q6600 to 2.91GHZ and the HD5850 1GB to 850MHZ for the GPU and 1200MHZ for the RAM.

    The score increased to 3848:
