Re: Hexus HandBrake charts - who has the greatest multi-threaded POWER!!??

So with everyone doing old machines, I thought I'd join in...

Intel Pentium 4 630 3GHz (single core - with hyperthreading) No OC
    4GB RAM
    Windows XP 32-bit

    Splice - 2.148653 fps
    Tron - 3.114757 fps
    BBB - 3.074227 fps

How far technology has come in 6-7 years...

Anyone have an amd e-350 / 450 netbook they could test, like the lenovo s205.

A c-50 and dual core atom would be good too.

Re: Hexus HandBrake charts - who has the greatest multi-threaded POWER!!??

My sister will be home for the weekend with her C-50 Toshiba netbook so I'll see if I can run this on there, hopefully it doesn't take more than 30 hours complete.

Have been busy decorating. Will try and put my E350 netbook on it. I'll report back after the first file, give you an idea of how well/badly it's going

    First results:

    AMD E-350 1.6GHz (2 cores)
    6GB DDR3
    Windows 7 64bit

    Splice: 1.92 fps.
    Tron: 2.78 fps.

The bunny is still downloading, hopefully update with that tomorrow.

As expected, it is not a rendering monster

My my, that seems to be the power of 64bit 0.9.6 you are seeing there. I thought that 0.9.5 looked like a 32bit Windows app

If the gains are that big (and from transcoding I have done in Linux before I would expect them to be) then I think we need a new table!

Re: Hexus HandBrake charts - who has the greatest multi-threaded POWER!!??

On the 64bit 0.9.6 Windows release I get 5.43 fps on Tron, vs 2.78 fps on 0.9.5.

Very nearly a doubling in speed, so in the real world I wouldn't see me using 0.9.5.

Will need to start another thread/table for 0.9.6. even if the differences were minimal.
