Were you using HandBrake 0.9.5?? I need to know which chart you need to be included on!

    New thread is here:

    http://forums.hexus.net/pc-hardware/...ml#post2332937

If you are using the latest version of HandBrake please post in the new thread. If people can retest their systems with the newer version of HandBrake it would be useful to see the relative improvements.

    Handbrake 0.9.5:

    Splice: 1.92 fps.
    Tron: 2.78 fps.

    Handbrake 0.9.6 64 bit:

    Tron: 5.43 fps.

    Both are on:

    AMD E-350 1.6GHz (2 cores)
    6GB DDR3
    Windows 7 Pro 64bit

The bunny downloaded overnight so will hopefully get that result at the weekend. I've seen that bunny in action, I don't want to annoy him by missing out his results

I notice 0.9.9 is now out with OpenCL support. Might have to fire up the E350 again

Does the release version support OpenCL? I thought that, QuickSync, etc were still in beta? I can't find any options for it on 0.9.9.

Re: Hexus HandBrake charts - who has the greatest multi-threaded POWER!!??

The dangers of skim reading news pages whilst at work, sorry I didn't realise that was three releases in one day not just the 0.9.9

Had a quick play, the hardware decode gave a minor speed bump where it could be used.
The OpenCL is only for scaling atm, and our benchmark here is same resolution input and output so no improvement.

I assumed the earliest usages would be implemented first, like mpeg decode, pulldown and deinterlace before newer stuff.

This is probably a low hanging fruit that's easy enough to implement, and something that they can see how rollout of OpenCL using code breaks things for people.
