    Re: 3DMark '13 score thread

I just tried overclocking my CPU to see if I could get a better score, this is what I finally managed after lots of messing around http://www.3dmark.com/fs/1469452

    Re: 3DMark '13 score thread

Made some slight improvements, but not really sure what's going on with this overclock, I have BIOS setting giving multiplier at 44x, ratio is set to 100:133, RAM is at 1866mhz but CPU-Z is reporting 41x Multiplier and core speed at 4121.4mhz, DRAM frequency is showing as 938.3mhz. Anyway this is my score, I might leave it as it is for now, I don't think I'll make it as an expert overclocker.

    Re: 3DMark '13 score thread

I like it, your physics score is only 815 points off from the score I turned in on my last attempt and almost identical to my best score with my CPU at stock. I might replace the 8350 with a 9590 in my other rig, if I can.

Not quite as much as 3x R9 290s though, which is sweet. I've been playing with an R9 290X today but that will go into the AMD rig, once I sorted out a few issues with the CPU heatsink and some first time modding, I'll be able to upload some scores.

^^ NICE! Personally though, I won't go beyond 2xsli/cf though, at least not with the current gen; I've had a lot of problems before. Certain benchmarks, designed for multicard setups, do them justice but I found that, in the real world, I had a lot of issues.

Could you also upload a pic of your rig inc case? Or at least details? I read a lot of reviews prior to getting my 780ti's as I was looking at custom cooled 290x's as well and there were a LOT of issues with over heating apparently. The reviews/forums I read said that the cards had to have at least 2 slots between them when mounted inside a case, otherwise, there wasn't enough room for the top card to draw in sufficient air and caused many crash issues and the same sites had people saying it was impossible to run them (with stock coolers) in tri-sli without using water cooling?

Anyway, look forward to the screen shots =)

    Re: 3DMark '13 score thread

Who's case did you want to see? I haven't done anything to mine and the only modding I'll be doing is to the graphics card, Butuz on the other hand has 3x290s in his case and has them all watercooled, IIRC, that along with his overclocked i7 is why he has the number 1 slot on the leaderboard.

    Re: 3DMark '13 score thread

Yep as above except that the #1 score was under air. 3 x leaf blower reference cards are no good unless you particularly fancy tinnitus.

I have not re run the benchy under water yet! I was saving that incase KeyboardDemon beat my score! though saying that there is not much scope for overclocking further as I am running the 3 x cards off a 360mm rad (120mm per card). I need to get a bigger RAD if I am to really crank those puppies!
