New dorm room at St Andrews;
Windows XP Pro on the right, Macbook (OSX/Vista Business) in the middle, openSuSE 10.2 on the left. Debian fileserver (with APC UPS) & BSD firewall are under the desk, hi-fi to the left, speakers are unfortunately on the floor until I find some stands, laser printer down next to the bed. I've got 2x spare LCDs along with a Dreamcast & a PS2 to hook up somewhere as well.
Oh yes, & my new £75 trackball
Rest of the photos here.
The new desk at my Student House:

That would be New Hall in St Andrews, if I'm not mistaken. Have you gone self-catered or risked it with catered? I was catered in my first year in Melville (just next to your fancy halls) and it was disgusting. I'm now in private accommodation now though, thank god. Resnet was fast, but they block almost all the ports.
I'm catered, but didn't really get a choice... I applied for self-catered/non-ensuite & I got catered/ensuite! The food has thus far been... 'edible', but then again I'm not too fussy as long as it doesn't kill me.
Resnet is rather speedy, but they block EVERYTHING - I mean they won't even open 6667 for IRC for heaven's sake!
I'll have to take a new photo sometime, including the hulking great 20" Triniton CRT I nabbed from outside Biomolecular Sciences the other week
Bit student digs atm but was sick of not being able to listen to music whilst the other half was working in the office so PC has now been moved into bedroom:

OK here's mine - did'nt get round to tidying up - have got a pic of it 'clean' somewhere & looks really nice, just does'nt seem to stay that way for long.
Study/storage room - converted back of integral garage with stud partition wall & used kitchen worktop for a full width desk. All other furniture are disposal items from work, including chair.
Haven't got round to installing my KVM yet - that will get rid of CRT on RHS.
Whole study powered on seperate mains circuit with trips & breakers - 10-way PDU from comms cabinet supplying most of power.
Still got to install lighting circuit, with 4-way Low voltage spotlights........
And yes that is a fridge on the RHS - got to get priorities right have'nt you !!!!!
gaming PC & work laptop:
printer area, download/web box, wifi DSL router & switch

Been some changes since I moved in back in September;
(If 1280 wide images breaks your monitor then you need a new monitor or a browser with a 'fit to width' option).
On top of the desk. CRT is a 20" Silicon Graphics (aka Sony Triniton) connected to the Shuttle, MacBook in the middle on my home-made stand & 17" MultiSync on the right for my XP machine. Mint tin is my headphone amp, mouse is a Razer Krait, keyboard is a Saitek Eclipse & trackball is a Kensington Expert
Left of the desk is amplifier, aforementioned Shuttle, 320GB Seagate FreeAgent, Freecom DVD+/-RW, another 320GB Seagate in a Shuttle enclosure, tuner (kudos if you recognise the station), Dreamcast with VGA adaptor, PS2 with no VGA adaptor & my printer (HP LJ 4 M plus connected with JetDirect). Oh, that beige box on the far left is a dual-socket 486
Underneath the desk are my XP machine (black), Debian fileserver (beige Time case), firewall (beige case on top) & my recently aquired 24-port switch. Oh yes, little beige box is the server's UPS.
Finally, just to prove that ancient computers still have productive uses, I give you my speaker stands.
CRTs FTW. Even better when they're free. That's a 20" Triniton on the left & a 21" Diamondtron on the right. As they both came from skips, I wasn't expecting perfection & the Triniton doesn't crank up bright enough while the Diamondtron has horizontal banding along boundaries of high contrast. Still, they are bigger & higer res than my 15" LCDs so they stay!
