are scan shipping the ds4's now?
they were lined up for the 9th
showing as in stock, but they dont do next day delivery anymore.
rang up at 1pm..."sorry, we no longer guarantee next working day....today we are taking orders for delivery wednesday"
i read that they are moving warehouse, so maybe that it?
been trying to register for xtremesystems but their system isnt sending out emails, tried 2 differend email addys and still nowt, wanted to ask there before i rma this one...found quite a few people with similar issues, but no solution apart from rma.
still no email from xs, dunno whats happened there.
just spoke to a bloke a gigabyte (givashyte) and he says that the bios chip has become corrupted, so i asked him if he could send me a bios chip and he said absolutely not, its not gigabyte policy to do that, i would have to rma the board to the place that i bought it from. in other words, not our problem.
will the msi be as bad as the asus and givashyte?..will find out soon enough.
hmmm... I've seen a mixed bag of opinions with these. I have one on my desk that's waiting for a conroe, but I keep seeing people get 500MHz fsb on these boards np, so I get the feeling you've been unlucky.
Really the RAM issue is a Ram manufacturers issue, they have set the SPD timings too low for the stock volts. OK, Gigabyte could also up the default volts, but DDR2 is supposed to be lower voltages.
Until Nvidia or ATI solution appears, there doesn't seem to be a better solution.
Well, the thing is, OCZ say its Gigabyte's fault, and Gigabyte say its OCZ's fault, i kind of agree with you, but i think they should work more closely together. I bought some corsair ram that is rated at 1.9v and i think its recomended on their website, but it still wouldnt boot up!Originally Posted by Rack
That issue aside, I had problems with a ps2 mouse not working, a usb mouse caused all kinds of weirdness (random reboots with it plugged in), mysterious squeaking noises coming from the board which were highly irritating, the end pci slot was so tight that the soundcard wouldnt fit in properly...just generally a crap motherboard!
good luck with yours
cheers, I hope I have a better experience. it's not sounding good...
Here's the xtremesystems ds3 thread, lots of potential OvCing issues
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=110460
I have a DQ6 with OCZ platinum DDR 6400 and I cant get anything on screeen it just powers up for a few seconds and then powers down and then powers up again on a constant cycle.
Also when it powers up, the CPU fan then spins for a second or two and then stops, when it powers down, it spins briefly again.
Is the motherboard faulty then? Should I RMA it back to Scan? Are there alot of people with this problem? Can anyone provide links to this problem.
E6600, 2GB OCZ Platinum, x1900xt, Antec Neo Power 2.0 480W.
hmmm, apart from the psu, the same specs as me, a pattern emerging?....i know someone else that this happened to and he had ocz ram.Originally Posted by rajindergill
is your the 6400 platinum xtc stuff?
edit: p.s. im fairly sure that that antec psu isnt up to the job for an x1900xt...worth looking into that.
Yes its Platinum XTC ram. The neo power should be upto the job on a single x1900 but if you have crossfire for Nvidia SLI then there isn't enough on the 12V rail. So I'm not worried about the PSU (especially when it has 2 PCIE connectors on it).
Will cheap ram be enough to get it booted and then change the Voltage for the memory upto 2.0V, as I've read that the default in the bios is 1.8V and so the OCZ does not work below this?
yes, the cheap ram works fine.

Thats what you get when you what you believe is good quality and fast memory. I've requested and RMA from Komplett (still within 10 days of delivery) and get my money back. I'll either be buying crucial or Corsair, not OCZ again.
