hmmmn, i always turn mine off, didn't think leaving it on was that common...
Last year I left mine on for 6 months non-stop, well I dont pay the electricity bill so who cares
Primary kit:
Fuji S5 Pro - Nikkor AF 50/1.8 - Nikkor AF 85/1.8
Epson RD-1
Film Kit:
Leica M3 - Summicron 50/2 DR - Zeiss ZM 25/2.8 - M-Rokkor 40/2
Olympus OM2n - Zuiko 50/2 Macro - Zuiko 50/1.4 - Zuiko 35/2.8
Mine does go into hibernation every now and then like the hedgehog it is. For some reason it was faster when I turned it on. It could be something to do with the 60 procceses that were running before (theres now only 30), I dont want to know what the other 30 were!
With love and many thanks,
Melons
This is interesting as i was thinking about this today. (having just received my 1st leccy bill in new house). My Torrent Box stays on 24/7...now assuming its around 200watt constant draw, that would that would take 5KW/Hr per day.
with powergen (expensive) each Kilowatt Hr is 17p so thats 85p per day, roughly
25 Quid a month just from this p3 ...
anyway that kinda made me think... so im switching to Atlantic power - only 12p for a KW/H so the bill will drop to about £16 a month - not SOOO bad..
Hope this makes you wastefull people think - it doesnt hurt to have a computer Hibernate after 30 mins idle - it'll boot up again in about 30 secs ewont it!

I guess the ones that stay on 24/7 aren't put in people's bedrooms then ?
Cuz mine is literally 2.5 meters from my bed, can't sleep if I leave it on. =_+
