Think u may have summed it up best here:-
So the casualty list is now:-I dont know if I have the patience to be another beta tester
Galaxy PSU
OCZ2FX11502GK
Commando mobo
lol u nearly have a full house
The ram is completely dead now, wont post in either board, even after cmos clear, or after booting with the cheapo ram. Bugger, both sticks as well, very weird.
OuchThe ram is completely dead now
your postman's gonna be busy m8, that's crap sorry.
Nah mate, if anything, its a relief to find the final problem (I use the word "final" very loosely")
The whistling commando can go back to scan.
Enermax are swapping out the psu.
Hopefully OCZ will be magnanimous and we can all live happily ever after.....
Until the Quad GT arrives
Yep to some extent it relieves the paranoia that develops wondereing what's up.
there's probably little to choose between the commando & quad except hopefully abit have better qc.Until the Quad GT arrives
what u running on now P5B + cheapo ram ??
All these problems is currently making me just use my machine at the moment, I don't want to risk killing my expensive RAM But that should not happen if I keep within spec volts) or the Commando, as I need the machine to wotk at the moment as I have killed two of my daughters machines...... well I did not kill them, but they are down, so I need this one as there is only one other daughter with a working computer and she has need of it.....
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.
Yep, I was kidding about the QuadGT, got no ram to use on it for a while.
Im on a laptop at the minute, the big pc looks like this at the moment.
Still using those old dfi ide cables ??
that's why i checked my vdimm with a multimeter, been caught out b4 accidently overvolting ram dur to inaccurate software/bios. My dfi nf4 overvolted by about 0.06vI don't want to risk killing my expensive RAM But that should not happen if I keep within spec volts
Well... as you probably remember, I thought there was a problem with my Commando or 8800GTX 'cos the screen stopped working, only after testing to determine it looked like it was the DVI input on the hugely expensive ViewSonic monitor..... to finaly discover it was infact the DVI cable....
So my horrors may be turning arround....
I have had some 4 year old Corsair PC3200 Ram start giving errors on one daughters machine, RMAed it back to the USA, Corsair confirmed one stick of the matched pair was giving errors, and as that RAM was no longer made offered replacment with dirrerent PC3200 DDR, or DDR2 RAM, or my money back. That is SERVICE! (assuming I get it..).
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.
But effective you never lose themThey are the only ones I had that reached out of the case, they are seriously hideous
Was using 1 up till the other week, when i had 2 optical drives in, the dfi was longer than the asus.
hear's me thinking your a long term intel man
