Firstly... again, I feel your pain, and this is not a criticism of yourself, but...

EA Mythic shot themselves in the foot by insisting that OB be only a week, and GOA made things worse by not having stuff running at full capacity until halfway through that week

crashing OS (one of my issues)
This is concerning - a crashing application should NOT be able to crash the OS, and I've not read any reports of this happening elsewhere. I'd be tempted to do some load testing on your system.

Poor performance. I'm running on a new well specced system, i shouldn't be having any stuttering, but i have.
This. I'm not sure what you mean by "stuttering", but the graphics scale down when there are masses of bodies on screen rather than have the game lag you (causing you immediate death). This was a design decision and personally I think they made the right call. That said, I don't see this on my HD4870, only on the missus' PC (some single core Athlon 64, 2Gib RAM, 8800GTS 640Mb). Again, possibly worth doing some load testing and benchmarking.

Eula. Every time you log in you have to scroll down, tick the box then accept the terms. Twice. Thats just stupid in this day and age.
Yep, I fully agree. I'm hoping that this is patched out on launch (if not before)
Queues. OMG 1 hour to log onto my server.
Yep, but yesterday saw the world and his dog who had preordered the standard edition queuing to get in. The queues were intended to direct people to lower population servers, and they are soft caps which were raised as the starting areas cleared - the servers themselves can handle far more players.

GOA. Never before have i used a website so piss poor. No up to date information, even the monthly fees haven't been corrected. If you want any news you have to go to a site like Warhammer Alliance.
Again, I agree. The website is terrible. That said, GOA *are* getting better at communicating stuff - there was notification up last night that servers would be downed today for a patch.

No Official forums. This is such a bad move. So many MMO's have their own forums, makes support easy, the CM's job easy as well. Just have a look at what happened to IanC on the WHA.
Again, I fully agree. I don't know if it was a cost cutting move (no official forums means you don't have to pay people to moderate them, and you can just tack on the "posting news" part to the CMs current job description) or something else, but I also feel it was a terrible decision.

Even tonight i found another bug when trying to use the launcher, Vista comes up with a message saying a program is not compatible with certain visual elements of windows.
...interesting. Nothing like that here or the machines of anyone else that I know that's running Vista. Does the error give specifics?

I really wanted to see this game succeed, i've followed it for some time, but if it can't get the basic's right, then its going to fail.
I also want to see it succeed. I've been beta testing for 15 months now, and it takes something to keep me interested in a game for that long. I'm still hopeful.

Bye Bye Warhammer.
It's a shame it came to this, and I can understand why you've taken the decision. Personally... I think if you give it a month or 2 and give it another shot you might be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for the reply Splash, i don't view your comments as criticism. Anything to help is always good

I'm not sure if its the OS crashing. Best description i can give, the game locks up, i can still hear things going on, but have no control of my system. I can't alt-tab or do a ctrl-alt-del. Only thing for it is to turn off the PC.

I can semi replicate this at almost any time. If i alt-tab out of the game, no problems, but i can't get back in the game. Get a black screen, correct mouse curser for WAR, sound i can hear myself if i jump, but can't see a thing. Only way out is to do a ctrl-alt-del and kill the game that way. To me it seems like the same kind of problem.

Currently looking at doing a full stress test on all components. Have already done some benchmarking on GFX and no issues came from that. All drivers are up-to-date including running a beta driver for GFX that seem good so far. Will be doing some MB stuff tonight including a BIOS update and possibly running memtest overnight.

I'll admit that the stuttering has been improved with the patch from last friday. It seemed to effect my head and made me feel sick and i had to stop playing, i hadn't been feeling well that day, but even so it was enough for me. This is an ongoing issue from what i've been reading on the WHA forums.

I understand that so many people would be joining yesterday, but to see so many servers with full was not a great sign. They should have opened all the Open Beta servers.

GOA really need to be posting more news onto the website rather than the fan forums. Most people will still go straight to the official website. Yes they have improved, but considering what happened on the first day of open beta, it could get any worse.

Never say never. I'll see what happens in the coming months, i'll still be keeping a close eye on this game. But for now, i'd rather save my money.

aha, so you had the old alt+tab bug - that makes more sense. It was happening to me, so I've been running the game in 1440*900 window for the last couple of days so it doesn;t affect me any more. This most certainly IS something they're aware of and working on.

Hmm, someone mentioned whether my res, 1920*1200, may be behind some of my issues. Will look further into that one

well, I run at 1440*900 just so it's windowed smaller than the full size of my screen so I don't need to alt+tab. Worth a thought in the meantime

Re: Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning Gameplay Thread.

I run at 1920x1200 also, nothing bad to report yet. Running on a X1950XT PE and it's running very nicely indeed, no AA but it still runs it at full whack. I was quite surprised, I thought I was gonna have to upgrade my gfx card.

Is there anyway of see which quests you have completed?

Have you alt+tabbed out a few times? That seems to be the cause of the issues.

As for quests - they should be listed in your ToK

Nope, I've not alt+tabbed out, no need I have duel monitors

I know you can see your current quests in the ToK, but is there anyway of seeing what quests you have completed in the past?

An answer on the EULA issue.

So why not make the procedure of accepting these terms more user-friendly, such as having the 'agree' box checked by default? One answer to this is that the less effort required to agree to something, the less is its juridical weight.

Whereas being annoyed about this feature is understandable, it may be useful to put things into perspective. It takes me some two seconds to scroll down, check the box and press the button. Repeating this for both the EULA and COC is a five second procedure. Repeating this a couple of times a day and even crashing a few times still only adds up to half a minute of your day. A small price for hours and hours of glorious WAR I'd say.

Sorry but thats a crock of ****. And crashing is now acceptable They really have no idea, muppets.

Shocking coming from a spokesperson for the game.

I've ordered my copy of Warhammer, but comments like that don't give me a good first impression

I also hate the fact you have to do the EULA everytime you login, its pointless, why they can't just follow suit with all the other companies is beyond me.

Re: Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning Gameplay Thread.

HI everyone, first post here, I have been looking frward to WAR for weeks and finally got to play it on saturday and so far I love the game but...

The eula is a minor pain.

The games crash to desktop is regular on my laptop - every few minutes until I dropped the graphcs to the lowest spec now its only every couple of hours, but the 40m wait to get back on after a crash is annoying.

The server dont seem to update according to 1 I have 1 character on order (when I have 2 on destro) and on another server rvr/rp I apparently have no characters despite playing on it for over an hour before the CTD, reconnecting the server still believes my character is not present.

great game but needs more patching before everyone gets to p*d off !
