Very nice pic by any chance is this a pic of Reading?

Rugger ... Nice crop vertically (just enough of the JD label), but that's an awkward overall size. A little bit wider would have suited it more IMO. Light is alright, although the flash is a little too obvious, but the DOF is perfect.

Thanks ibm, as a comparison, what's your opinion on this one, a slightly wider shot?

take that same setup - then put a white sheet under the bottle and glass, stretch the cloth out and then let it gently curve up and away

Needs cleaning up - but this is straight from the camera, manual WB, simply resized, nothing else, white desk.

Lovely shot Bob, very simple but great colours. The curved corners are a border I presume?

Steven ... That's a good train yard shot, but the sky is a bit blown out. Does HDR work in black and white? Great composition and lines. Is the scene a little wonky, left higher than right, or is that just how the land lay?

Thank you Yea I know the sky is a little blown out, I don't have any gradient filters. I'm not sure about the angle, I've never really noticed that. It might be though.

Like what you have done with that image It looks a lot richer and more dynamic (if thats the right word) I must admit that my photoshop actions so far have been limited to auto contrast - auto 'improve' and spot healing brush - can you do levels in elements 6?
