Nice photo burtie! I'm no guru or anything, but i think that it would be been a great photo if you'd got your point of view a little lower. Would have been able to see the little'uns face!

indeed, always try and match or get slightly lower than your subjects height, especially with kids (depending on the situation this might change)

Bobster....that's an incredible eye shot, but then I started looking at the eyelashes and the edge and could only think of The Fly....

Some nice photos guys! I might have a little wander tomorrow and see what I can find. I still only have a kit lens for my D40 - 18-55mm - Thinking of getting a 55-200VR soon.
not posted in here before - just lurked
canon 400d - 50mm f1.8 - 1/90s f1.8 iso200
I tried the reversed 50 mm thing, but it didnt work so well, the image was in a circle... and it was really hard to hold the 50mm in place
ok, you need both lenses wide open (2.8) and idealy you need to have the 2nd lens as a mid range zoom
the way you get the 50 wide open is to put it on the body and hold the DoF button, then while still holding the button take the lens off
you can of course, just use the 50 on its own reversed against the body..
yes it is isn't it
