Oh gosh no, horrendous in the (my) hand, plus shutter shock issues (mkII helps address this though). Great sensor though.

I need to wait for Sony to recover from the Kumamoto quake as I want the sensor from the GX8 in an Oly body, then it's a question of whether I go the OM-D EM-1 route and re-use my current glass or if I just fully embrace the mini camera approach and wait for newer versions of the EM-5, which seems to be analogous to my current E-620 (which I absolutely adore, noise be damned ).

Was also very tempted to jump to Pentax K1, but too many flaws just yet. Maybe the mk2.

Have you looked at Fuji - known people with FF Canon and Nikon gear who have ditched it for a Fuji mirrorless system. The XPRO2 and XT2 seem to have quite decent AF systems.

OTH,if you have decent lenses staying with Olympus makes more sense though.

First off, the rep told Rob that “the EM1 Mk2 is definitely going to be launched at Photokina and will be on sale in October 2016.” It may boast 4K video capability, but the real improvements, according to the rep, will focus on sports photography capabilities.

XT2 isn't out yet, but yes I'm eagerly awaiting it's release and reviews as well. More or less same price as the K1 mind..

It then left for Silverstone!!! What shutter speed would you use for this? At 125/s I was struggling to achieve sharpness so I was reluctant to go lower.

I prefer blurred wings (but a deeper focal plane as you say so they're in focus - one of the few areas a slightly smaller sensor helps with )

For Lynx/Wildcat I start shooting at 1/80 and go lower, for Chinook and larger helicopters, I start at 1/40..

I think you'd need about 1/8000 at least to get close to static wings..

Can't see any exif. I have downloaded the file to my phone it's only 179kb. I can only see the file name and the category.
