I can only wish he was out on his ear but I'm sure he got a few grand as a pay off

Muppets like that deserve to be sent to Iraq to the front line in my view.

I'm not gonna start on wether the war was right or not, but by doing this - just to sell a few more newspapers - he dragged our nations name into the dirt, and put our soldiers in risk.

Probably won't stop idiots buying the mirror (or the sun, who he used to work for) mores the pity.
Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

I bet that same person won't be sending out copies of papers that show the photos to be fake. That person will be as guilty as Morgan when there is retaliation for these pictures.

What he says on T.V is normally very irritating and how he approaches people is normally not very nice either. I just hope he realises his more 'unlikeable' characteristics and goes about sorting them out.

...Me thinks this won't happen though!

Lord Hutton Disappointed Inquiry Not Needed To Sack Piers Morgan - May 13th 2004

Lord Hutton has expressed his disappointment that he was not required to sack the former editor of the Daily Mirror Piers Morgan. He had expected when news broke that the Daily Mirror had obtained a collection of photographs depicting British soldiers abusing Iraqi POWs that his services would once again be called upon:

Maybe you want to believe they are real Blub2k, 'incontravertable' evidence might appear, it might not.

I think they could have made a better job of it, you know, things like not making it so obvious it was an Iraqi victim like dressing him a nice clean T-shirt with the Iraqi flag emblasoned across it, capturing the exact moment that boot was thrust between the victims legs (l33t shutter skills that man)
The soldier peeing on him (noo that wasn't a water bottle really)
Or the truck they were in that has internal side panniers that aren't actually in use in Iraq..

Not to mention the fact that if the British Army were bashing prisoners around they sure as hell wouldn't be taking photos of it (no one could be that stupid surely <ahem> )

Point is these photos where pasted onto the front page of the Mirror because it suited their agenda, the fact is that this kind of thing puts not only our troops at risk but British civilians, contractors and journalists

As a direct result of published photos of REAL photos showing prisoner abuse at the hands of American guards, a man was recently beheaded
using a pocketknife. So because of the Mirrors ‘hunch’ that these photos might be real, we put our people at risk too.

Fact is you can fake anything with the right uniforms, photoshop, and the appropriate conditions (like a controversial war)

I think the Mirror acted totally irresponsibly by plastering these pictures onto the front page of their papers, hey - they might be real, they really might,
but you don’t publish ANYTHING so sensitive and so damning to the lives of British Servicemen without being 100% sure of the source and the integrity.

Heads need to roll for this, not just Morgans’ smug arrogant pineapple.

Of course this is all just my little old opinion.

And one with which I wholeheartedly agree. As far as whether the photos are genuine...well if they are, I'm taking another REALLY hard look at the Roswell autopsy....

Look, Blub, if you've been following my posts in <ahem> another thread, you should bloody well KNOW where I stand on the question of mistreatment of prisoners, but the Mirror photos are so obviously faked that it's unbelieveable that there are still people willing to believe them. You're anti-war, and it's a position that I respect, but respectfully disagree with. Hanging your arguments on patently dodgy photos doesn't do much for your credibility, though. Now, I live about half a mile from the barracks where the fakes were snapped, so I can probably go find the truck for you if you like? (Joke, OK?)

No, you just don't like the fact that these pictures have been proven to be fake, as it's a blow to your anti-British, anti-American, anti-War views, that you have made perfectly clear in various threads on the Question Time forum.

It's a typical anti-War stance; even when obviously proven wrong, dig your heels in, and never admit anything. Just a shame you so predictably followed the same line.

Piers Morgan published these photo's to further his papers own anti-War stance, and was prepared to do so at the cost of British soldiers lives in Iraq. This is a disgusting act, and now that the pictures have been proven fake, he has, quite rightly, resigned.

The Mirror has admitted its mistake, and printed a front page apology, holding their hands up, and admitting they were hoaxed and wrong to print the pictures.

Really mate, I know its a hard pill to swallow, and I know you delight in this sort of thing, and would like to believe that our boys are all mistreating Iraq's on a daily basis, but bottom line - the Mirror photo's are fake.

As bitter a pill as this may be, for the likes of you to swallow, please do so, as a simple blind refusal to accept this fact, based on your own anti-War views, does you no favours at all.

As the poster above me said, a stuborn refusal to accept the facts, just because the facts don't sit well with your political views reduces only one thing; your credability.

As Skii said in a previous post, what's most obvious here, is that you want to believe these photo's are real, which is, perhaps, the saddest thing of all.

    Chin up sunshine,

    Vaul.
