Looking good Philip, thanks for the further pics! Now I totally understand where you were coming from when you emailed me about the LED fan. The blue would have looked a bit odd, as it is the red looks awesome.
Hope my baby came through the QC alright and you didn't need to get the fire extinguisher out!
Maybe someone can explain the 3D Mark06 scores? As it is, doesn't mean much to me? lol. Hopefully 20k is good!!!
Cheers for the continuing pics Philip, it's great to be able to see your machine as it's being built.
Sounds good clocker!
As I said before, be ace to have a sticky at the top of Builds and benchmark performance
That way if people ask about certain CPUs or GFX cards you get a pretty good idea of what to expect (if the base of i7 x58 remains the same).
20K...in 3Dmark06?! My 8600GT / E6750 managed about 5k. loool. That is one helluva system
Brings back memories
Looks so similar to mine, you'll love it Mark!
It will suprise you how heavy it is, so get your back into it!
Hi again All,
My system has arrived today, safe and sound, just busy trying to get through all the bubble wrap lol. Can't wait to see this beast booted up. Mind Yupyupno was right, the sheer weight is something to behold, bad backs all around I think.
Just busy trying to it all plugged in at the moment so will let you know how it goes sometime soon.
Thanks for all the help and advice from everyone regarding my first ever scan system and thanks as always to the scan guys who have always been knowledgable and helpful every step of the way.
Have fun, (I know I will be!)
/me super envious
Enjoy your new system.
great news
i though about saving the bubble wrap for future use, but there really is so much, no where to really put lol
the first time you turn it on is something special, seeing all the lights glow, you know you've got some serious power there!
have fun mate, would be good to see some pics of your setup
Thanks everyone,
I will let everyone into my Doh! moment today though, brand new shiny scan system can't wait to see it in action and because for the time being I am linking it up to my HD LCD TV, I can't for the life of me find a DVI to HDMI socket for it!
So it's straight down the shops tomorrow to snap up one of them! In the meantime you can have a good laugh at my expense for forgetting a cheap cable on a lovely new super system lol.
Just to ask around really as well, not sure if I will get away with posting this here but just wondering if people had any good software recommendations for their scan machines, just trying to get everything settled on my system so any "well I use this or that" might be useful for me.
Cheers everyone,
Now, where can I put the huge box my system came in for safe keeping, that's the next problem!
Thanks for the advice sleepyhead, I did give that a go with a spare HDMI to HDMI I had but according to the TV instructions it says use DVI to HDMI. Nothing was happening when I tried the HDMI to HDMI cable, which was a shame.
Thanks very much for the pointer though, knowing me that's exactly the kind of thing I would have missed.
Cheers
