A couple of months ago I started experiencing a problem with my PC (cant go into much detail), but after doing research I found out maybe it could be the graphics card. I phoned up Scan and described the problem to the person, and he insisted that it was indeed a graphic card problem and I should send it in as it was still under the 3 year warrantee . Just before that, I decided to investigate for myself. I took apart the computer and tried out different components (i.e. taking out the RAM and putting in spare RAM I had to see if it could’ve been the RAM causing the problem etc) and it turns out it was indeed the graphics card. Anyhow, I sent it in, and apparently Scan found no fault with it. After being charged for testing and courier (which I really wasn’t aware of, but I guess that is my fault) I decided to try out the card. Still, the same problem occurred. I decided to go to my local computer shop and hand in my system so they can diagnose where the problem lay. The technician too came to the conclusion that my graphic card is faulty. I also consulted a distant relative of mine who works for Toshiba as a senior computer technician; he too claims it’s a problem with the graphic card.
So I am sure that it’s a fault with my Asus 8600gts Graphics Card, but Scan are unable to find a fault with it, although every other place ive taken it to have said its problem with the graphic card. I’ve had it for a couple of years, and Asus have 3 years warrantee. I want to sort this out as soon as possible because I believe Scan have short changed me.
What can I do?
