    Q9550 stock

    Hi guys,

I'm all ready to buy my upgrade (mobo/CPU/RAM etc) but Scan's website still says the Q9550 is on pre order and due today. What does that actually mean? I'm not on wheels at the mo so I'll be cadging a lift and need to know if/when they'll actually arrive?

I obviously don't want to go to the trouble of sorting out transport only to find out they're arriving at 6pm tonight, or not at all

Also, one last thing - Is there an ETA on the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R mobo? It's been on pre order for a while now. I could go for the 'C' spec of that board (just the same but with DDR3 support as well) but I'd rather not.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Lee

you could always make use of SCANs 'SCAN to HEXUS' free delivery.. link your account up and it arrives fast normally (usually next day for me)
because you have enough posts and have been a contributing member instead of some of the people that just spam the hell out of everything just to get free delivery...

it's also nice to see that you have stuck around

    Re: Q9550 stock

Yeah I knew about that mate Scan's fairly local to me (10 mins away from my Mum's) so it'd be a chance to visit anyway. TBH I'm thinking I might be better off waiting a few weeks for the E0 stepping version. I've waited this long after all.

It just seems that no matter what you want to buy PC wise, there's always something bigger/faster/cooler/better if you'd only wait a month.... then that month it's here, but if you just wait another month.... LOL I'm sure YKWIM.

I was gonna get the Q6600 but waited so long for the price cuts apparently this latest batch of Q6600s are extremely poor clockers (struggling to hit 3Ghz on 1.5v!!). So I'm basically missed out on the Q6600 and now I'm left with Q9550 at an extra £100. I could always go E8500 and clock the heck off it, but why go for 2 cores when you can have 4? lol Just gotta decide on when to buy the Q9550 now. Is the E0 really that much better? Decisions decisions

oh aye, Southport is quite near isn't it...

I was under the impression that Southport was way down south... for obvious reasons
